Position Summary:
This position provides leadership and oversight for CUA Visitation, After Care, Well-Being, and Community Engagement teams. The Director ensures program operations comply with CUA, DHS, state and applicable federal standards and regulations. The role oversees service delivery to families across prevention programs and ensures referrals and program capacity are managed effectively.
Responsibilities include supervising program supervisors, reviewing program performance and outcomes, supporting staff onboarding and professional development, and implementing corrective action when necessary.
Typical Examples of Work:
· Provides strategic leadership, oversight, and coordination for the Visitation, After Care, Well-Being, and Community Engagement programs within the CUA to ensure the effective delivery of family-centered prevention services.
· Partners with a variety of prevention-focused services and interventions designed to strengthen families, reduce risk factors, and prevent involvement in the child welfare system.
· Develops, implements, and monitors program plans, service delivery models, and referral pathways to ensure timely, appropriate, and effective support for assigned families and community members.
· Oversees Community Engagement initiatives including the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Parent Cafés, Strengthening Families events, and other prevention-focused activities; ensures alignment with agency goals and community needs.
· Coordinates outreach, promotion, and community-based recruitment efforts to increase participation in prevention programming and strengthen community partnerships.
· Monitors and evaluates program activities, family engagement, service outcomes, and documentation practices to assess effectiveness, identify service gaps, and implement quality improvement strategies.
· Reviews Prevention program spending to ensure funds are used responsibly within approved budget guidelines and provides financial updates to the CUA Director and Assistant Director.
· Ensures all Prevention program operations comply with CUA, DHS, and applicable city, state, and federal regulations, standards, and contractual obligations.
· Identifies program, practice, and staff performance concerns within Prevention services. Implements corrective actions and process improvements to strengthen compliance, service delivery, and outcomes.
· Oversees the onboarding, training, supervision, and professional development of Prevention staff and supervisors; ensures staff maintain competency in prevention practices and agency standards.
· Collaborates with internal departments, community-based organizations, medical providers, schools, and other stakeholders to coordinate services and strengthen the continuum of care for children and families.
· Oversees the medical record request process for all out-of-home placement cases and ensures timely coordination of health information and healthcare services for committed youth.
· Serves as the primary liaison with DHS and external healthcare partners regarding insurance, medical coordination, and continuity of care for committed youth.
· Maintains and strengthens relationships with Community Advisory Board members, community providers, and neighborhood stakeholders to support prevention efforts and expand access to family resources.
· Represents Prevention programs in leadership meetings, cross-system collaborations, and agency-wide planning initiatives related to child welfare prevention, family support, and community engagement.
· Attends periodic staff, supervisory, and leadership conferences; prepares reports, correspondence, and program evaluations; maintains records related to assigned program areas.
· Obtains a minimum of twenty (20) hours of training per fiscal year.
· Performs related work as required.
Qualifications:
● Education:
Must have a master's degree in social work or related fields, including sociology, psychology,
counseling, criminal justice, education, divinity, or public health administration.
● Experience:
Must have a minimum of five years of child welfare experience.
Must have a minimum of three years of supervisory or leadership experience in prevention, family support, or community-based programming.
● Skills & Competencies:
Knowledge of:
· The principles, practices, and operating systems of child welfare, including how medical, behavioral health, educational, and community entities intersect to support children and families.
· The laws, regulations, and rules governing the provision of social services to individuals in child welfare.
· The philosophy, objectives, resources, and service systems that support children and families involved in child welfare.
· Social, environmental, economic, and behavioral factors that impact family functioning, child safety, and risk of child welfare involvement.
· Leadership principles, supervisory practices, and staff development techniques necessary to coach, support, and strengthen supervisors within Prevention programs.
· Proficiency in English; Spanish speaker is preferred but not required.
Ability to:
· Assess and address program, operational, and staff performance concerns and develop strategies for improvement.
· Evaluate program quality and effectiveness and recommend changes when needed.
· Build and maintain effective working relationships with staff, community partners, and external stakeholders.
· Use sound judgment when addressing sensitive matters and challenging situations.
· Plan and oversee prevention and community engagement activities based on family and community needs.
· Prepare reports and written communications.
· Present ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.
· Proficient use of Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
· Provide leadership, coaching, and support to supervisors and staff to strengthen program performance.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
