About the Role
The Human Resources Director / Senior HR Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of human resources operations, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, payroll oversight, performance management, workforce planning, and organizational development.
This role requires a strategic thinker who can also execute effectively, balancing big-picture planning with day-to-day operational excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Human Resources Leadership
- Develop and implement HR strategies that support organizational goals and growth initiatives
- Partner with executive leadership on workforce planning and talent management
- Lead employee engagement, retention, and organizational culture initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and overall employee experience
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Development
- Oversee full-cycle recruitment and onboarding programs
- Develop strategies to attract, hire, and retain top healthcare and administrative talent
- Support leadership succession planning and employee development initiatives
- Implement performance management and career growth programs
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Serve as the organization's primary resource for employee relations matters
- Conduct investigations and provide guidance on performance, disciplinary, and workplace issues
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and healthcare-specific employment regulations
- Mitigate employment-related risks through proactive policy development and training
Payroll & HR Operations
- Oversee payroll administration and reporting
- Utilize Paychex Flex to support payroll and HR processes
- Maintain accurate HR records, reporting, and compliance documentation
- Analyze workforce metrics and provide recommendations to leadership
Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise, mentor, and develop HR staff
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement
- Partner with department leaders to strengthen management effectiveness and employee engagement
Required Qualifications
- Proven Human Resources leadership experience within a Home Health Agency
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and healthcare workforce regulations
- Hands-on experience with Paychex Flex payroll administration
- Demonstrated success in recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, and retention initiatives
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
Important Industry Requirement
Candidates must have direct Human Resources leadership experience within a Home Health Agency.
Due to the unique regulatory, accreditation, and workforce requirements of home health care, experience limited to nursing homes, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation centers, physician practices, hospitals, or hospice organizations will not fully meet the qualifications for this role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification
- Experience supporting rapid organizational growth
- Experience developing workforce retention and employee engagement programs
- Healthcare multi-site workforce management experience
