Location: Scottsdale, Arizona

Compensation: Dependent on Experience

Employment Type: Full Time with Benefits

Schedule: Hybrid Schedule. 8-hour day shift. No nights, no weekends, and no major holidays.

About the Role:

A new and ambitious healthcare venture is seeking a Director of Operations to lead the development and execution of all core operational functions. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in health plan administration, self-funded group benefits, or TPA operations — someone who understands how the system works and wants to build something better.

We are a growing organization offering a modern healthcare model that emphasizes cost transparency, whole-person care, and seamless coordination between administrative and clinical teams. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape the backbone of a scalable platform from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

·Operational Leadership

Design, implement, and manage workflows for eligibility, enrollment, billing, claims, and member support.
Establish operational policies, KPIs, and SOPs to ensure accuracy, scalability, and compliance.
Oversee day-to-day administration and strategic execution of benefits delivery.

Vendor & Partner Management

Manage relationships with third-party administrators (TPAs), customer service vendors, technology platforms, and clinical partners.
Develop SLAs, performance metrics, and escalation paths to ensure accountability across all partners.
Coordinate implementation and integration timelines for all operational vendors.

Member Experience Oversight

Own the systems and workflows related to member onboarding, service escalations, and care coordination handoffs.
Collaborate with marketing and product teams to ensure the member journey is intuitive and high-touch.

Financial & Administrative Operations

Collaborate with finance and actuarial consultants to support pricing models, cost management strategies, and reporting accuracy.
Monitor and manage administrative costs, including vendor payments, fee structures, and reporting compliance.
Support reconciliation and data handoff processes between vendors and internal finance teams.

Strategic Execution & Growth Readiness

Help operationalize and iterate on new benefit structures, care delivery models, and compliance updates.
Identify gaps in technology or process that hinder scale and propose practical solutions.
Build out and lead an operations team as the organization grows.

Qualifications:

5–10+ years in healthcare operations, ideally with experience managing health plan workflows, TPA relationships, or self-funded employer plans.
Proven ability to build or scale operational systems in early-stage or fast-growth environments.
Skilled in navigating the nuances of benefits, claims, and regulatory compliance.
Comfortable working cross-functionally with legal, finance, product, and clinical teams.
Highly organized, execution-oriented, and passionate about simplifying complex systems.
Bonus: Experience with non-traditional plan models, alternative funding structures, or virtual-first care delivery.
