Part-Time Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant

EzDashcam – Tempe, AZ
Part-Time | In-Person | 10–15 Hours per Week
Pay: $24–$30 per hour, depending on experience

About EzDashcam

EzDashcam is a growing automotive electronics retailer and professional installation company based in Tempe, Arizona. We sell and install dash cams, accessories, and related automotive electronics through our local store, online sales channels, and mobile installation services.

We are looking for an experienced, organized, and dependable Part-Time Bookkeeper / Accounting Assistant to help organize our historical financial records and maintain accurate bookkeeping going forward.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys cleaning up books, creating organized systems, reconciling accounts, and helping a small business maintain accurate financial records.

Responsibilities

Review and help organize historical bookkeeping records
Maintain accurate bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online
Categorize and record business transactions
Reconcile bank accounts and business credit cards
Reconcile payment processors and online sales deposits
Track merchant processing fees, refunds, chargebacks, and adjustments
Maintain accurate records for product sales and installation/service revenue
Assist with inventory and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) accounting
Track vendor purchases, invoices, credits, and payments
Maintain Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable records
Organize receipts, invoices, statements, and supporting documentation
Assist with payroll-related bookkeeping and reconciliation
Maintain accurate sales-tax liability records
Help prepare Arizona TPT/sales-tax information
Review the Profit & Loss Statement and Balance Sheet for unusual or incorrect balances
Prepare monthly financial reports
Identify discrepancies and recommend corrections
Maintain organized records for our CPA and tax preparer
Communicate with management regarding missing documentation or questionable transactions
Assist with other accounting and administrative tasks as needed

Historical Cleanup

A major initial responsibility of this position will be helping us organize and reconcile prior accounting records.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable reviewing:

Prior bank and credit-card statements
Existing QuickBooks records
Online sales records
Payment-processor reports
Vendor invoices
Inventory purchases
Payroll records
Prior tax-return information
Receipts and business expenses

We are specifically looking for someone who understands how to properly reconcile and verify historical transactions, rather than simply categorizing transactions.

Qualifications

Minimum 2–3 years of bookkeeping experience preferred
Strong QuickBooks Online experience
Strong understanding of bank and credit-card reconciliation
Understanding of Profit & Loss Statements and Balance Sheets
Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Experience with inventory and Cost of Goods Sold preferred
Experience with e-commerce, retail, or service businesses strongly preferred
Experience reconciling payment processors and online sales platforms preferred
Experience with sales-tax accounting preferred
Arizona TPT experience is a plus
Payroll bookkeeping experience preferred
Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills
Excellent attention to detail
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to identify accounting discrepancies instead of simply entering data
Ability to work independently
Reliable and professional communication

Preferred Qualifications

QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification
3–5+ years of bookkeeping experience
Previous bookkeeping cleanup/catch-up experience
Experience working with an e-commerce or automotive business
Experience with Shopify, WooCommerce, PayPal, Stripe, Square, Amazon, eBay, or similar platforms
Experience preparing books for review by a CPA
Experience working with small businesses

Schedule

Approximately 10–15 hours per week to start.

Schedule can be somewhat flexible during normal weekday business hours.

Additional hours may initially be available while historical bookkeeping records are being organized and reconciled.

This is primarily an in-person position at our Tempe location.

Compensation

$24–$30 per hour, depending on bookkeeping experience and qualifications.

Candidates with significant QuickBooks cleanup, inventory, e-commerce, and reconciliation experience may qualify toward the higher end of the range.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who can do more than basic transaction entry.

A strong candidate should be able to look at a set of books, identify what does not make sense, investigate discrepancies, properly reconcile the accounts, and help establish systems that keep the books accurate going forward.

Accuracy, organization, reliability, and good judgment are extremely important for this position.
