ROCHA is Arizona’s most robust industrial service providers that sells, installs, maintains, and services Compressed Air, Vacuum, and Nitrogen systems to customers of all sizes. ROCHA provides professional compressed air and mechanical services that are unmatched in both quality of service and pricing, and is looking to add an Air Compressor Technician to our already outstanding crew.

The Air Compressor Service Technician’s primary focus is the installation, repair and maintenance of Air compressors, dryers, air filtration systems, and air piping.

Primary Workflow

Effectively troubleshoot and identify malfunctions and failures in equipment
Diagnose and address mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic breakdowns
Generate service reports summarizing the work performed
Perform tasks as needed to repair or replace components of air compressors and compressed air systems.
Ability to perform trade-related duties in a safe, professional manner
Must be a self-starter, work alone when necessary, and self-coordinate workload using established priorities
Must establish and maintain effective professional relationships
Must be coachable and able to follow detailed verbal and written instructions
Able to attend periodic out-of-state training courses
Other qualifications desired but not required:
Experience in basic heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) trade including operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC and swamp cooler systems.
Knowledge of electrical single and three-phase power systems
Experience pulling and backing up enclosed and flatbed trailers

Job Overview

The Field Service Technician for ROCHA serves customers by installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining all makes of rotary screw and reciprocating air compressors, along with additional compressed air system components. You will use precision measuring tools for diagnostic troubleshooting of compressed air equipment. In addition, you will utilize operations and parts manuals associated with all equipment as needed.

In addition to performing preventive maintenance and service on compressed air equipment, our service techs interact with customers to address existing and unanticipated equipment concerns. This role works with the Service Coordinator on identifying the necessary parts and supplies to complete installations and repairs.

Responsibilities

Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with customers and co-workers.
Provides technical assistance with equipment pre-commissioning, start-ups, installations, and repairs of compressed air systems. Including “hands-on” work to assure equipment operates to customer’s requirement with limited guidance from the Master Technician.
Increases customer awareness of how ROCHA’s products, services, and solutions, such as Preventative Maintenance, Diagnostics, Audits and Leak Detection can benefit their operations.
Document service and installation activities by completing work orders for each job, performing maintenance checklists, and notating recommendations.
Maintain rapport with customers by suggesting improved methods and techniques and recommending system improvements.
Work with Service Coordinator and operations team on identifying and gathering parts and supplies necessary to complete service and repairs.
Conduct basic vibration and air quality troubleshooting.

Core Competencies

Excellent verbal/written communication skills and customer service skills including conflict resolution, communication, negotiation, etc.
Ability to work in diverse conditions, including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage) with NFPA or equivalent standards.
This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling, and requires employees to regularly lift and or move weight limits in line with the safety policy.
Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and other basic computer usage. Proficiency with handheld computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad).

Requirements

2 years+ experience of troubleshooting industrial/commercial mechanical systems.
Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations including, but not limited to: DUI in the previous 5 years, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

Work Environment/Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions that could occasionally include extreme heat, wet and/or humid conditions, and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Pay: $28.00 - $40.00 per hour
