Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Garage Door Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining garage doors and related systems, ensuring safety, functionality, and customer satisfaction. Your expertise in mechanical systems, electrical work, and construction will be essential to deliver high-quality service on every project. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from new installations to complex repairs, in a fast-paced environment that values craftsmanship and customer care.

Responsibilities

Install, repair, and replace garage doors, openers, springs, cables, rollers, and hardware using hand tools and power tools.
Interpret technical drawings and building plans to ensure precise installation and repairs that meet building code compliance.
Conduct glass installation for windows or panels within garage doors when required.
Perform electrical work related to door openers and safety sensors following electrical codes and safety standards.
Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues with door mechanisms and perform mechanical repairs efficiently.
Handle heavy lifting safely when installing or replacing large garage door components or hardware.
Use welding equipment or metal stud framing techniques for custom or structural modifications as needed.
Ensure all work complies with local building codes and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and organized work site.
Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair processes clearly and addressing client questions professionally.
Assist with remodeling projects involving door hanging, fixture installation, cabinet installation, or caulking as part of broader construction tasks.

Experience

Proven experience in construction, carpentry, or handyman roles with a focus on door installation or remodeling projects.
Hands-on experience with glass installation, metal stud framing, welding, or electrical work is highly desirable.
Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints for construction or renovation projects.
Knowledge of building code requirements related to garage doors and general construction site safety practices.
Prior experience working on construction sites or performing heavy lifting tasks safely is preferred.
Strong mechanical repair skills combined with excellent customer service abilities are essential for success in this role.
