Full Job Description

About this Position:

This is a hands-on electronics engineering role focused on the design and development of hardware for unmanned aerial systems. The position sits within an engineering hub responsible for taking autonomous systems from concept through to prototype, spanning the full UAS stack. The engineer will have direct influence over the organization's drone capabilities, with a particular focus on PCB design, RF, and digital hardware development. The role operates in a fast-paced, iteration-driven environment where practical expertise and delivery ownership are essential.

Job Responsibilities:

Design PCBs and electronic subsystems for UAV platforms, ensuring compliance with SWaP constraints
Conduct EMI and component testing to validate overall system robustness
Integrate and validate digital components, including digital data-links
Select, evaluate, and qualify sensors, communications systems, and third-party components
Plan, execute, and analyze RF and communications testing to ensure reliable and secure command-and-control
Troubleshoot complex system-level issues across electrical, mechanical, and software domains
Develop software and low-level firmware for UAS components, including flight controllers

Experience Required:

3+ years of experience designing electronic components for UAS, aerospace, automotive, or defense hardware
Proficiency in electronic design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD, KiCad, or equivalent), including schematic capture, PCB layout, and production documentation
Experience designing for low-rate and ramping production, balancing performance, cost, and schedule
Proficiency with test equipment including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and RF power meters
Working knowledge of propulsion systems, power distribution, and energy management
Familiarity with flight control firmware such as ArduPilot, PX4, BetaFlight, or Mavlink
Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to operate with autonomy in ambiguous environments
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering, or Robotics (desirable; equivalent practical experience considered)
Military or defense industry background (desirable)
Experience with STM32 chipsets, autopilot systems, sensor fusion, and RF/datalink hardware integration (desirable)
Exposure to fixed-wing flight mechanics, mesh networking, or launch systems (desirable)

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
