Full Job Description

Assistant Business Manager – Part-Time

The Family Resource Center (The Center) is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Part-Time Assistant Business Manager. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, staying organized, supporting day-to-day business operations, and working in a mission-driven environment that serves children and families.

The Assistant Business Manager will provide administrative and financial support to The Center and will work closely with the Business Manager and other administrative staff to ensure accurate, timely, and organized financial and program records.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with accounts payable, including processing invoices, maintaining documentation, and ensuring payments are accurate and timely.
Assist with child care billing, including data entry, account updates, payment records, and follow-up as needed.
Perform accurate and timely data entry and maintain organized electronic and paper records.
Assist with filing, document management, scanning, copying, and other general administrative duties.
Enter and maintain financial and program information in QuickBooks and Excel.
Assist with tracking receipts, invoices, payments, and other financial documentation.
Help maintain accurate records for audits, grants, reporting, and compliance requirements.
Communicate professionally with staff, families, vendors, and community partners as needed.
Protect confidential financial, family, employee, and organizational information.
Provide general administrative support to the Business Manager and Center leadership.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the effective operation of The Center.

Qualifications & Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, billing, or general office administration preferred.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent follow-through and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Experience with QuickBooks preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
A positive, dependable, and professional attitude.
Willingness to learn new systems and procedures.

We are willing to train the right candidate. Experience with accounting or bookkeeping is preferred, but we are also interested in candidates who demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, reliability, and a willingness to learn.

Employment Requirements

To be considered for employment with The Center, candidates must be able to successfully complete a drug screening and KBI background check in accordance with Center policies and applicable requirements.
