Full Job Description

Chef de Tournant

The Chef de Tournant (Swing/Relief Chef), is a full-time salary culinary staff member that requires experience working as; Sauté Cook, Grill Cook, Cold Line, and Banquet Preparations and Executions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Takes orders from the Lead Banquet Chef and Lead Member Dining Chef.
Helps maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen cleaning up spills and other potential hazards immediately.
Assists with training of newly hired kitchen staff.
Supervises junior cooks and other members of the kitchen staff.
Ensures that all standards of safety are strictly observed.
Completes finished product according to club standards for guests and members.
Monitors the quality of the banquet meal during the event.

Help create and implement menu selections for special themes and events based on current food trends and regional tastes in partnership with other members of the management team.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Degree from accredited culinary school.

In-depth skills and knowledge of all kitchen operations

Possess strong leadership, communication, organization and relationship skills

Schedule flexibility required.

Proficient in general computer knowledge.

A true desire to exceed guest expectations in a fast-paced customer service environment.

Assist in monitoring food production, ordering, quality and consistency on a daily basis.

2-5 years’ experience in the food industry, food production and supervision of kitchen staff.

Must have excellent verbal communication and leadership skills.

Be able to express creativity through food selections, preparation, and presentation.

Must be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task while remaining focused on the goal.

Must have the ability to remain calm in high stress situations.

Be able to solve problems quickly under pressure.

Must have adequate upper body strength for heavy lifting (up to 50lbs.) and strong back and leg muscles for hours of standing, bending, and walking around.

Must be able to work in hot kitchen, in fast paced environments and in demanding situations.

Must be willing to begin work some days in the early morning hours and other times remain at work late into the night depending on the size and time of a particular banquet or member dining.

Must be able to work weekends and holidays as these are common times for banquets and member functions, and member dining.

ServSafe certification preferred

Lead Banquet Chef & Lead Member DIning Chef

Benefits and Compensation:

50,000-55,000/year

Full Medical, Dental benefits after 90 day
