Staff Accountant

Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation

Overview:

Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation (PHLF) is a private 501(c)(3). based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. PHLF uses historic preservation as a tool for community renewal, economic development, and civic pride rather than urban demolition. In furtherance of its preservation mission, PHLF is involved in numerous historic restorations, educational programs, lending, and real estate development activities throughout western Pennsylvania.

The Staff Accountant reports directly to the Controller and is part of the team within the Finance Department. The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting the Controller and Senior Accountant with accounts payable, cash receipts, transactional record keeping and other functions of the Finance Department. Salary is dependent on experience, with increases available in accordance with growth in position and contributions to the department. PHLF also provides employees with generous health and retirement benefits programs.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

Accounting

· Reconciling accounts payable for non-profit and for-profit entities

· Reconciling cash receipts for non-profit and for-profit entities

· Assist with month-end closing and financial reporting processes.

· Assist with shared cost allocations.

· Assist in the implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budget, accounting and payroll.

· Assist with external annual audits of non-profit and for-profit entities for the parent organization and subsidiaries

Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related business field from an accredited university

· Prior work experience in accounting

· Strong computer skills

· Strong organizational skills

· Strong attention to detail

· Experience with Blackbaud FE accounting software or similar accounting software a plus

· Experience with ADP accounting software a plus

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
