Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Designer to join our growing multidisciplinary engineering team. This position is ideal for a designer with experience in industrial electrical systems who enjoys developing high-quality construction documents while collaborating with engineers, project managers, and other design disciplines.

The successful candidate will have experience preparing electrical designs using AutoCAD and Revit and will support projects from concept through construction for a variety of industrial clients.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare electrical design drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
Develop electrical layouts for power distribution, lighting, grounding, conduit, cable tray, and equipment arrangements.
Prepare single-line diagrams, panel schedules, cable schedules, and bills of materials.
Coordinate with electrical engineers to develop accurate and complete design packages.
Collaborate with project managers and other engineering disciplines to ensure designs meet project requirements and schedules.
Incorporate engineering markups, client comments, and design revisions into project drawings.
Ensure designs comply with applicable industry codes, client standards, and company drafting practices.
Participate in field visits to verify existing conditions and support project execution as needed.
Maintain drawing quality, organization, and revision control throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

Associate degree or technical degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field preferred.
5-8 years of electrical design experience, preferably in an industrial, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment.
Proficiency with AutoCAD; Revit experience preferred.
Experience preparing electrical construction drawings for industrial facilities.
Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and common industrial electrical design practices.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with steel, heavy metals, manufacturing, power, or other industrial facilities.
Familiarity with 3D modeling and BIM coordination.
Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
