Job description:

Looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join our Human Resource team. This position will be responsible for direct support and guidance in various functional areas of Human Resources with an emphasis on Recruiting. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of HR or recruiting experience, working in a fast-paced work environment, positive attitude, team player, effective communication, consistent follow through, and attention to detail are must have attributes for this position.

The HR Generalist supports processes associated with the employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding. While no day will be exactly the same, the HR Generalist will be involved in a variety of Human Resource functions, including but not limited to:

Full-Cycle Recruiting
Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from job posting through offer acceptance
Source, screen, and interview candidates for a variety of professional and support staff roles
Develop and maintain strong candidate pipelines using multiple sourcing strategies (job boards, referrals, networking, etc.)
Coordinate and schedule virtual and in-person interviews
Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, job requirements, and team dynamics
Lead candidate communication, ensuring a positive and professional experience throughout the process
Manage offer process including extending offers, negotiating terms, and closing candidates

Recruitment Operations & Compliance

Oversee pre-employment processes including background checks, credentialing, and licensing requirements
Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and hiring regulations, including EEO guidelines
Maintain accurate and up-to-date applicant tracking and recruiting records
Ensure adherence to State Education Department (SED) and OCFS requirements where applicable

Onboarding Support

Partner with HR to ensure a smooth transition from candidate to new hire
Coordinate onboarding logistics and ensure all required documentation is completed
Support new hire integration to promote early engagement and retention

Strategic Talent Acquisition

Proactively identify hiring trends and recommend improvements to recruiting strategies
Build and maintain relationships with passive candidates and talent networks
Support employer branding initiatives to attract high-quality candidates
Track and report on recruiting metrics such as time-to-fill, candidate pipeline health, and hiring success

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
Recruiting experience required.
Solid understanding of NYS employment laws.
Demonstrated experience working with an HRIS, preferably cloud based system.
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to exhibit a high degree of confidentiality and proper judgement in sensitive situations.
A positive attitude and high level of commitment to execution of job duties.
Organizational and time management skills with expert attention to detail.
Independent judgment to plan, organize, and prioritize workload.
Proficient in Microsoft Office with a strong focus on Excel.
Experience working with SED, OCFS, Paycom or other related fields preferred.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year

This is a Full Time in person position with a 37.5-hour work week, Monday-Friday. The pay rate will be based on relevant experience. This position offers the following benefits:
