Full Job Description

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a CNC Programmer and/or Operator, preferably in custom furniture or woodworking
Proficiency in Rhino for 3D modeling, RhinoCAM and VCarve for CNC programming
Strong knowledge of CNC operating and wood materiality
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, cut lists, and assembly instructions
Knowledge of CNC tooling, feeds, speeds, and machine setup
Experience in troubleshooting and routine machine maintenance
Spanish proficiency is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

1- CNC Programming:

Program 3-axis CNC with ATC, Indexer, and Tangential knife CAM files using RhinoCAM and VCarve Pro
Create cut lists and assembly guides for the Woodshop team
Work closely with the Design and Woodshop departments to develop and refine frame design and construction using Rhino
Assist with project costing and production scheduling to improve efficiency
Troubleshoot programming and machining issues to maintain quality and precision
Develop and enhance CNC fabrication methods for improved performance and consistency

2- CNC Operation:

Operating the CNC machine to mill furniture components
Setting up and adjusting tooling, hold-downs, and machine parameters for different projects
Reading and interpreting cut lists, shop drawings, and CAM programs
Monitoring machine operations to ensure accuracy and quality standards
Troubleshooting CNC issues, programming, and operating errors
Collaborating with the Design and Woodshop Departments to improve production processes
Performing routine machine maintenance to ensure optimal performance
Following safety protocols and maintaining a clean, organized workspace

Location: Long Island City, NY
Job type : On-site position only. No remote work.
Starting Date: Available to hire immediately

Hourly rate: $32-$35/hr (Based on experience)
