Job Overview

The Learning Coordinator is responsible for managing special projects in the Learning Department. They report directly to the Director of Learning. The Learning Coordinator will maintain alignment with company policies, standard operating procedures, mission, strategic initiatives, and organizational goals.The Coordinator may need to work directly with the executive leadership team as well. They will have interactions with company staff and key stakeholders inside and outside of the organization to monitor and project the operational aspects of the company’s brand as a deliverer of high-quality clinical services, reliability and overall excellence.

The Learning Coordinator supports the Learning Department by managing key projects, coordinating professional development initiatives, improving departmental processes, and ensuring alignment between educational services, clinical operations, and organizational goals.

Duties

Create, implement, and continuously improve departmental standard operating procedures related to clinical and consulting services(specifically those connected to the Clinic and the Consulting Program). This does include understanding and aligning with the standard operating procedures company-wide and the integration of the SOPs with the Blue Sea Operation (“BOS”) system.
Responsible for maintaining healthy, respectful, and productive working relationships with all key stakeholders, including, but not limited to, Blue Sea employees, providers, and client school districts throughout the geographic areas we serve. This includes creating and/or providing professional development to providers at Blue Sea and working directly with students and families.
Responsible for effectively communicating with existing and prospective school districts and providers on the operational (and clinical) advantages of working with Blue Sea as a company of choice. As part of an overall marketing strategy, collaborate with other Blue Sea departments to develop and implement action plans that serve to cultivate, maintain, and expand stakeholder relationships in the Long Island geographic region.
Serve as the primary point of contact for departmental operations in the Director's absence, ensuring continuity of services, communication, and decision-making, including hiring of providers.

Project & Operations Management

Manage departmental initiatives and special projects.
Develop and maintain SOPs.
Monitor operational effectiveness and recommend improvements.

Professional Development

Design and deliver staff training.
Support CTLE compliance requirements.
Collaborate with providers to promote best practices.

Stakeholder Relations

Maintain relationships with school districts, families, providers, and community partners.
Support district engagement and retention efforts.

Leadership Support

Assist with hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
Support departmental operations in the Director's absence.

Direct Service Support

Provide educational services to students when needed in accordance with IEP requirements.

Skills and Abilities

Interpersonal skills, with a focus on communication strategies, listening and problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities
Ability to build rapport with school districts and key stakeholders to facilitate service provisions and enhance company growth
Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
Articulate in a professional manner
Experience conducting interviews and evaluating candidates for educational and clinical roles.
Ability to develop and facilitate professional learning aligned with NYS CTLE requirements.
Clinical understanding to support providers as needed
Stay up to date with current research in the educational field
Cross-functional collaboration
Strong writing and evaluation skills in order to QA Annual Reviews (seasonal)
Fluency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and other applications
Provide direct services to scholars as needed as per their IEP goals and expectations

Education and Experience

NYS Certification in Special Education or Literacy required
Wilson or OG licensure preferred
Minimum of 5 years experience working with school-aged children within a school setting
Minimum 3 years of leadership, supervisory, or administrative experience in an educational setting.
