Full Job Description

A little about us!- We are a larger school that has been serving the Allen community for 19 years, consistently recognized as one of the top schools in our area. We are an independent school with onsite owners, and a leadership team that includes an executive director of 19 years, Assistant Director of 16 years, Education Director of 7 years, and School Age Manager of 5 years. We take a heavy focus on social-emotional development and early literacy for our students, value strong family connections with our parents and wholeheartedly believe in our director team being servant-minded leaders. We maintain a healthy school family connection but still expect professional excellence from all our staff.

A little about the position- this is not a typical director’s role, in that you won’t be expected to do all things, for all of the school, all the time. While we understand a ‘Jill of all trades’ is normal for this position, we don’t expect it to be that way all the time. This position will be more family-focused with the goal of upholding strong family connections and parent care while also ensuring generally smooth operations. We aim to construct a team where everyone takes a niche focus but is flexible and able to step into other areas as needed. Clear as mud? ;) We will certainly discuss more in interviewing, but we do things differently!

Some of the basics- We will require any candidate to have:

At least 3 years’ experience in a managerial role at a licensed childcare center
Strong understanding of Texas Minimum Standards and industry best practices
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Flexible schedule to either open (6:30am) or close (6:00pm) the school as needed
Previous classroom teaching experience
Ability to manage a staff of 40 or more

What to expect- We will hold 2 rounds of interviews and a “working interview” where you will have time to spend in several classes. This is an important position which we want to provide ample time for both you and us to ensure it’s a great fit, and that we hold similar beliefs in how a school should operate.
