Location: Dallas, TX, 75205

Start: September, 2026

Schedule: Monday–Friday: 2:30 PM–8:30 PM Saturday: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM or 12:00 PM–10:00 PM Guaranteed 40 hours per week

Caring For: 1 teenage boy 17 yo

Compensation: $35/hour DOE | Guaranteed 40 Hours Per Week | 10 Days PTO | 3 Paid Sick Days | Holidays Paid at Time-and-a-Half if Asked to Work

Description:

A warm, faith-centered family is seeking an experienced, professional Household Assistant and Special Needs Adolescent Companion to become a valued long-term member of their household. This family has a remarkable history of maintaining long-term relationships with their staff, with previous household employees remaining with them for 15 and 18 years.

They are searching for a career-minded professional who takes pride in creating order, supporting a busy household, and building meaningful connections. The ideal candidate has prior special needs experience, is proactive, highly organized, adaptable, and genuinely enjoys helping families thrive.

While this role includes supporting a wonderful teenager with special needs, it is equally a household management position for someone who enjoys staying busy, anticipating needs, and taking ownership of projects that help a home run smoothly.

About the Role

The family's teenage son benefits from companionship, encouragement, and active engagement. He enjoys activities, outings, and having someone who will participate alongside him rather than simply supervise from a distance.

The ideal candidate will have a youthful spirit, enjoy being active, and be excited to spend time biking, swimming, playing games, and engaging in activities that foster connection and independence.

Responsibilities

Special Needs Adolescent Companion Care

Provide companionship and support for a teenager with special needs
Engage in activities, outings, bike rides, swimming, and recreational activities
Encourage independence while providing appropriate supervision and support
Assist with potty-training goals and pull-up changes as needed
Travel and provide support when accompanying the family
House sit and provide support when needed during family travel

Household Assistant Duties

Family laundry and linen care
Making beds and maintaining organized living spaces
Kitchen support, including light meal preparation and evening kitchen cleanup
Running errands and household-related tasks
Organizing closets, storage spaces, and household systems
Assisting with entertaining and special events
Taking initiative to identify household needs and complete projects independently
Helping create and maintain an efficient, well-organized home
Helping care for the family's dogs

Qualifications

Minimum 5+ years of professional nanny, household assistant, household manager, and caregiving experience
Experience working with adolescents and/or individuals with special needs preferred
Strong professional references demonstrating longevity and reliability
Ability to ride a bike and swim
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Valid passport and willingness to travel domestically and internationally 4 times a year
Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
Clean motor vehicle record
Ability to pass a drug screening
