Assisted Living Manager

Location: Dallas, Texas
Company: Deity Cares
Employment type: Full-time
Schedule: 8am-5pm, May include evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage
Compensation: 45,000-60,000

About Deity Cares

Deity Cares is a family-owned and operated assisted living provider founded by a local firefighter and paramedic. We provide compassionate, community-based care in a warm, clean, and secure residential setting. Our licensed Type-B assisted living homes support residents who may need help with mobility, transfers, personal care, medication management, and emergency evacuation.

Our leadership includes a registered ICU nurse. Together, we are committed to ensuring every resident receives personalized care grounded in compassion, comfort, safety, and dignity.

Position Overview

Deity Cares is seeking a dependable and compassionate Assisted Living Manager to oversee the daily operations of our residential care homes. The manager will lead caregivers, coordinate resident services, maintain a safe and welcoming environment, and support compliance with applicable assisted living requirements.

The right candidate is an organized, hands-on leader who communicates well with residents, families, employees, healthcare professionals, and company leadership. This position requires sound judgment, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to serving older adults, including residents living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.

Key Responsibilities

Lead daily operations to ensure residents receive consistent, respectful, and person-centered care.
Supervise caregivers and support staff, including scheduling, delegation, coaching, performance management, and shift coverage.
Coordinate resident care in accordance with service plans, physician instructions, company policies, and applicable regulations.
Monitor resident wellbeing and promptly communicate changes in condition to families, healthcare providers, and leadership.
Oversee medication processes, documentation, storage, administration, and related safety practices within the scope of applicable requirements.
Support resident admissions, assessments, service-plan updates, family communication, and transitions of care.
Maintain accurate records, including resident documentation, employee files, incident reports, training records, and operational logs.
Promote regulatory readiness by conducting routine checks, correcting deficiencies, and supporting inspections or licensing visits.
Manage staffing levels to maintain appropriate resident coverage, including overnight and emergency needs.
Coordinate household services, including meals, housekeeping, laundry, activities, supplies, and maintenance.
Respond to incidents and emergencies calmly, promptly, and according to established procedures.
Foster a positive culture where residents feel valued and employees feel respected, accountable, and supported.
Assist with budgeting and inventory, including controlling expenses and maintaining necessary food, care, and household supplies.
Participate in an on-call rotation and provide operational support outside regular hours when necessary.
Knowledge of current Texas Administrative Code pertaining to current rules and regulations.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, social services, business, or a related field is preferred.
Two or more years of leadership experience in assisted living, memory care, senior care, residential care, home health, or a related healthcare setting is preferred.
Working knowledge of resident care, staff supervision, documentation, medication processes, infection prevention, and emergency procedures.
Experience supporting residents with Alzheimer's disease or other dementias is strongly preferred.
Strong leadership, organization, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
Ability to work respectfully with residents, families, caregivers, healthcare providers, and regulators.
Comfortable using email, scheduling tools, electronic records, and standard office software.
Must satisfy all applicable background-checks.
Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain them promptly. (employer will pay for certification). Food handlers course with in 30 days of employment.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Current or willing to obtain 24-hour course for new Assisted Living Manager certification (employer will pay for certification). New certifications must be completed within 90 days of employment. 12 hours of continuing education to be completed after first year.

Physical and Scheduling Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and remain active throughout the workday.
Ability to assist during resident transfers or emergencies within training and company safety procedures.
Ability to work in a residential care environment and respond calmly to urgent situations.
Availability for occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities.
