About the Role

Oberg and Associates is seeking a driven, competitive Candidate Sourcer / Recruiter to join our team. This role is focused on the candidate side of agency recruiting—identifying talented professionals, generating candidate interest, building relationships, and developing a strong pipeline of qualified candidates for our clients.

This is not a passive recruiting role. Success requires consistent outbound activity, including cold calling, creative sourcing, networking, follow-up, and direct outreach to professionals who may not be actively looking for a new opportunity.

We operate in a fast-paced, high-pressure, results-driven environment. We're looking for someone who enjoys the challenge of finding the right person, isn't intimidated by the phone, and has the work ethic and determination to keep going when the easy searches and easy conversations run out.

What You'll Do

Source and recruit qualified candidates for direct-hire opportunities with our client companies
Conduct a high volume of outbound cold calls to prospective candidates
Identify passive candidates who may not be actively searching for a new position
Utilize LinkedIn, job boards, databases, referrals, networking, internet research, and other sourcing tools to uncover talent
Develop creative sourcing strategies for difficult-to-fill positions
Conduct initial candidate conversations and evaluate experience, qualifications, career goals, compensation expectations, and overall fit
Build and maintain an active pipeline of qualified candidates
Develop strong relationships with candidates throughout the recruiting process
Consistently follow up with candidates and keep recruiting activity moving forward
Maintain accurate and detailed candidate information within our recruiting/ATS system
Work closely with senior recruiters and account managers to understand client needs and recruiting priorities
Meet established activity, sourcing, and recruiting goals
Take ownership of searches and continuously look for new ways to generate results

What We're Looking For

Required:

1–3 years of recruiting, sourcing, staffing, sales, business development, or other relevant outbound experience
Comfortable making outbound cold calls and initiating conversations with people you don't know
Strong work ethic and willingness to put in the activity necessary to produce results
Highly motivated with a genuine drive to succeed
Comfortable working in a high-pressure, performance-driven environment
Persistent and willing to continue pursuing a search when candidates are difficult to find
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable learning and utilizing multiple recruiting and technology platforms
Organized and able to manage multiple searches, candidates, and priorities simultaneously
Coachable and receptive to feedback
Self-motivated and able to take initiative without needing constant direction

This position probably isn't for you if you prefer recruiting primarily through inbound applications, are uncomfortable making cold calls, need significant direction to stay productive, or dislike working in an environment where activity and results are measured.

Agency recruiting requires persistence. Candidates won't always answer. Searches won't always be easy. Priorities can change quickly. We're looking for someone who sees those challenges as part of the job, not a reason to slow down.
