Full Job Description

We are looking to hire a detail-oriented HVAC Service Technician. The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing residential and commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. This role requires strong technical knowledge, customer service skills, and a commitment to safety and high-quality workmanship.

Service & Repair:

Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in HVAC systems.
Repair or replace defective components such as compressors, motors, relays, fans, thermostats, and circuit boards.
Perform emergency repairs in extreme weather conditions as needed.

Maintenance:

Conduct routine preventative maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure peak efficiency and prevent future breakdowns.
Clean condensers, evaporator coils, blower fans, and replace air filters.
Check refrigerant levels, airflow, and system operation.
Charge systems with refrigerant and perform final system checks to ensure performance and safety compliance.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate service reports, repair logs, and inventory tracking using company software or paperwork.
Communicate clearly with dispatch and supervisors about job progress and completion.

Customer Service:

Provide excellent customer service while explaining diagnostics, repair needs, and system recommendations.
Educate clients on system usage and preventative maintenance.

Safety & Compliance:

Adhere to all company, OSHA, and EPA regulations and safety guidelines.
Handle refrigerants in accordance with EPA Section 608 certification standards.
Use PPE and ensure job sites are left clean and safe.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED
HVAC trade school certification or apprenticeship
EPA 608 Certification (Type I, II, or Universal)
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
1+ year of HVAC service experience preferred

Skills:

Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
Familiarity with tools like multimeters, refrigerant gauges, vacuum pumps, etc.
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
Familiarity with heat pumps and gas systems
Exposure to varying temperatures, tight spaces, attics, & crawl spaces
Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
Use of ladders, power tools, and hand tools
On-call shifts, overtime, or weekend work may be required

Certifications / Qualifications:

NATE Certification
EPA Certifications
Knowledge of smart thermostats and advanced HVAC technologies
Experience with both residential and light commercial systems

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Schedule:

8 hour shift
