Overview

Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Metal Fabrication CNC Machinist and become a vital contributor to precision metalworking processes. In this role, you will operate and program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including lathes and milling machines, to produce high-quality metal components. Your expertise in CNC programming, machine setup, and measurement will ensure that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and to exact specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining tools and cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment dedicated to excellence.

Duties

Set up and operate CNC machining equipment such as CNC lathes and milling machines, ensuring proper tooling and fixture installation.
Program CNC machines using G-code, M-code, and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to produce precise parts according to detailed blueprints.
Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately, applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards for quality control.
Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement tools to verify part dimensions.
Conduct machine calibration, adjustments, and troubleshooting to optimize machining processes while adhering to safety protocols.
Maintain detailed documentation of machining operations, including setup procedures, measurement data, and quality inspection reports.
Support continuous improvement initiatives through lean manufacturing principles and efficient tooling management.

Qualifications

Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC mills and CNC lathes with Fanuc or similar control systems.
Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages including G-code, M-code, and CAM software like SolidWorks or CAD for design interpretation.
Skilled in blueprint reading with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and technical specifications accurately.
Mechanical aptitude with understanding of machining tools, tooling setups, grinders, hand tools, power tools, and welding processes.
Familiarity with measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines for quality assurance.
Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, feed rates, speeds, and material properties essential for precision machining.
Ability to perform manual machining tasks when necessary using lathes or grinders for finishing operations.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste in production workflows.
Valid certification or experience in metal machining processes; familiarity with plastics injection molding is a plus.
