Full Job Description

Receptionist / Patient Coordinator

Do you enjoy staying busy, keeping things organized, and helping a team stay on track? If you’re friendly, dependable, and great at multitasking, this may be the job for you!

Eye Clinic of Sandpoint is looking for a full-time Office Receptionist / Patient Coordinator to join our team. This position primarily works from our back reception area, helping coordinate patient care, schedules, phone calls, and the day-to-day flow of the clinic. You will also help cover the front reception desk when needed.

We are willing to train the right person :)

Essential Functions

Greet and communicate with patients in a friendly and professional manner
Answer phones and assist patients with questions, scheduling, and messages
Coordinate patient appointments and help keep doctors' schedules full and organized
Understand and manage multiple doctors' schedules
Work closely with technicians, doctors, and front office staff to keep patient flow running smoothly
Assist with patient check-in and check-out when needed
Provide occasional coverage at the front reception desk
Accurately enter and update patient information in our electronic medical record system
Assist with basic medical testing or other clinical duties as trained
Pay attention to the small details that help the office run efficiently
Be willing to jump in and help wherever needed—we work as a team!

We are looking for someone who is dependable, organized, comfortable working in a busy environment, and genuinely enjoys working with people. Our office can move quickly, so being able to prioritize tasks while remaining friendly and accurate is important.

Attendance & Dependability

Reliability is extremely important in this position. We depend on each member of our team to arrive on time, complete assigned responsibilities, and help provide consistent care for our patients.

Communication

You should be comfortable communicating clearly and professionally with patients, doctors, coworkers, and outside medical offices, both verbally and in writing.

Teamwork

We have a close-knit office and are looking for someone who works well with others, is willing to help when things get busy, and contributes to a positive work environment.

Qualifications

Strong computer skills and ability to learn an electronic medical record (EMR) system
Ability to multitask while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
Excellent attention to detail
Strong customer service and communication skills
Good problem-solving abilities
Professional verbal and written communication
Strong interpersonal skills
Dependable and punctual
Comfortable working in a fast-paced medical office
Previous medical office experience is helpful but not required
