Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, with experience in fine dining and catering environments. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. You will play a key role in menu planning, inventory management, and team leadership, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes that meet our restaurant's standards.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to recipes.
Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining proper stock levels.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu planning and development of new dishes.
Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and equipment usage.
Monitor food production processes to ensure consistency in taste and presentation.
Handle special dietary requests and ensure all meals meet guest expectations.
Participate in catering events as needed, ensuring timely service and quality food delivery.
Maintain a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.

Experience

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role within the culinary industry.
Strong background in fine dining establishments with banquet experience preferred.
Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in team management and shift management.
Knowledge of food service management practices including inventory management and food handling procedures.
Culinary degree or equivalent professional culinary experience is highly desirable.
Familiarity with menu planning, catering services, and restaurant management practices is a plus.
Excellent communication skills with a focus on hospitality and customer service.
