About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with CNC programming software, proficiency in G & M code, and the ability to develop efficient, high-quality machining programs from concept to production. Experience with macro programming and simulation/verification tools is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, edit, and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis milling and/or turning operations using CamWorks
- Verify and simulate toolpaths using Vericut to identify and eliminate potential collisions, errors, or inefficiencies prior to production
- Write, edit, and troubleshoot G-code and M-code programs manually as needed
- Develop custom macro programs (parametric/conditional programming) to support flexible, repeatable, and efficient machining processes
- Utilize Visual Studio to develop, modify, or support custom programming tools, scripts, or utilities that integrate with CAM/CNC workflows
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to interpret blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T specifications
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds, and work-holding methods to optimize cycle time and part quality
- Perform first-article inspections and adjust programs based on inspection feedback
- Troubleshoot machining issues on the shop floor and revise programs to resolve production problems
- Maintain accurate documentation of programs, setup sheets, and revision history
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to programming efficiency, tooling, and process optimization
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a CNC Programmer in a manufacturing or machine shop environment
- Proficiency with CamWorks for CAM programming
- Experience with Vericut for program simulation and verification
- Strong working knowledge of G-code and M-code programming
- Demonstrated experience with macro programming
- Familiarity with Visual Studio for scripting, automation, or custom tool development
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings and GD&T
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Confidence and desire to learn
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for documentation and cross-team collaboration

Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Experience with multi-axis (4/5-axis) milling and/or CNC turning centers
- Familiarity with SolidWorks or other CAD platforms
- Experience designing or modifying custom cutting tools and/or fixtures to support specific machine applications
- Familiarity with tool design principles, including tool geometry, tolerance stack-up, and material selection for custom or specialty tooling
- Exposure to DFM (Design for Manufacturability) principles, providing feedback to design engineers on part designs to improve machinability
