Full Job Description

Position Description:

We are currently recruiting for a Telecom Helpdesk Technician (Level 1) to fill an entry-level role on our team. This position is based on our Stuart, Florida office and is not eligible for remote work. The technician will work as part of Stuart, Florida-based VoIP team that supports the technical needs of small and medium-sized businesses utilizing our Hosted VoIP services clients located nationwide. The technician must be a self-starter who can learn quickly, retain information, and work independently. The technician will work as part of a collaborative support team to resolve standard adds, moves, and changes, as well as more complex technical support issues for our clients.

The technician must have exceptional customer service skills, written and verbal communication skills, and must be extremely detail-oriented. The technician must also be able to be the calm, confident voice on the other end of the phone that can instill confidence and assurance in a client, in order for them to know that their technical request or in some cases, an emergency is being taken seriously and being handled properly.

Position Details:

The technician will be responsible for opening and tracking the progress of service tickets for items such as change requests or other technical related issues being reported, by phone or email, and then providing the technical support needed to resolve the issue at hand. If the technician cannot resolve the specific issue themselves, the technician needs to be able to determine the appropriate course of action that is needed to successfully resolve the issue and then proceed accordingly. The technician will also be responsible for setting up and configuring new virtual VoIP systems and related peripheral equipment as well as going to customer locations around the region to assist with new deployments. The technician will often be working with other team members as well as third party vendors such as telecommunications carriers, internet service providers and software vendors to ultimately resolve the issue at hand. All support must be provided expeditiously and with the upmost attention to customer service.

Minimum Requirements:

- Must have natural technical aptitude and a passion for technology

- Must have excellent phone and customer service “Soft Skills”

- Must have excellent troubleshooting skills

- Must be able to quickly learn and retain information

- Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment

- Must currently live and maintain residence in Martin or St. Lucie County

- Must pass a thorough background screening & pre-employment drug test

Preferred Requirements:

- Experience performing basic LAN and WAN related troubleshooting

- Experience providing technical support for telecommunications clients

- Comfortable working in a remote support environment

- Prior telecommunications related employment with an ISP or telecommunications carrier such as Comcast or AT&T

Compensation Summary

- Salary Range $20 - $25 Hour DOQ

- Position is full time
