We are currently searching for a dynamic, Full -Time Sr. Personal Banker to join our Credit Union family. This position is responsible for an array of universal duties associated with the Platform and Teller line, as needed. This will include accurately processing member account requests and transactions, day-to-day branch operations duties, ability to learn and promote PFCU products and services and adhering to all BSA Compliance rules and regulations.* Responsible for accurately and efficiently processing transactions, balancing daily, and maintaining cash within approved limits. Explains, promotes, refers, and sells PFCU products and services. Will serve in advisory role to maximize the sales potential of every interaction. The incumbent will also serve as a Coach/Leader for other (Teller and PSA) employees at Branch and will assist, as needed, with a variety of branch operational tasks and escalations. This position serves as the first line of defense in preventing fraud and mitigating risk. _Consider joining our amazing family!*_
The position will be based at our "soon-to-open" new location in PORT ST. LUCIE, FL. (Please see pertinent details at bottom of advertisement.)*
In this position you will:
- Handle a myriad of Platform duties to include: 1) effectively explains, promotes, refers, and sells respective PFCU products and services; 2) opens and maintains a variety of accounts, products, and/or services for member after consulting on their individual needs; 3) refers members to appropriate business lines to ensure member needs are met; 4) handles basic to complex loan requests for members including having in depth conversations on Residential Mortgage loan applications and Business Services; 5) ensures new and existing deposit and loan accounts meet quality control standards; 6) performs the activities required to meet production targets; 7) assists members with Safe Deposit requests as needed; 8) uses consultative sales approach to proactively identify member needs and to build and deepen relationships by finding solutions to meet those needs and develop more products per household and 9) uses sales process management experience and tools to develop new members or centers of influence.
- Handle a myriad of PSA/Teller duties, either directly or as back up, to include: 1) New Account and Account Changes QC; 2) assisting the Management team with audits from outside auditing partners and/or regulators; 3) providing overrides as needed; 4) balancing, researching and loading cash for ATM; 5) coaching all Tellers and PSA’s and assisting with new hire training; 6) assisting with teller research to locate out of balances and ordering branch cash; 7) leading by example in all operations, procedures, observations and goals while ensuring effective working relationship and 8) assisting Branch Management team with a variety of other operational tasks and other operational duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate problem solving skills and the ability to handle complex and multiple priorities. Maintain a high level of personal integrity through a friendly and professional demeanor in addition to complying with the Code of Ethics & Conduct. Ensure Net Promoter Score/NPS meets PFCU standards.
- Provide superior member service by following PFCU member experience standards all while complying with BSA and Compliance regulations, procedures, branch security, Teller Balancing guidelines and all other PFCU policies and procedures. Ensure cash drawer, checks received, and transfers are in balance on a daily basis.
- Handle other teller functions such as: 1) ensure requests of all Negotiable Items (Money Orders, Cashier’s Checks, Visa Gift Cards, etc.,) are processed and recorded accurately and 2) process the Night Drop, Mail and Automated Teller Machine (ATM) deposits using dual control.
- While working on the Teller line, look for opportunities to build rapport with members. Listen for cues that will connect a promotion or financial solution to an expressed need. Look at the member’s account profile for additional referral opportunities. Encourage members to meet with a Personal Service Advisor and other business partners. Follow up with members as needed,
- Answer phone and email requests from other branches and departments in a timely manner.
- Provide support to other branches (travel) and other duties as assigned.
To be considered you will need:
- High School graduate or GED equivalency required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum: Minimum of 4 years of account opening/platform and servicing experience required.
- Effective listening and communication skills
- MS Office applications: Word and Excel- Basic
- Must possess the ability to remain calm, patient, objective, and professional when presented with difficult situations.
- Must have ability to orally communicate effectively and maintain effective working relationships.
- Must have the ability to meet attendance standards and adhere to work schedule.
- Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales goals.
- Aptitude for consultative selling.
- Strong listening and comprehension skills to be able to identify member financial needs, goals and objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team by leading by example and coach other employees for optimal performance and member satisfaction.
- Requires successful registration and issuance of a unique identification number from the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) in compliance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE ACT).
Schedule: Full time during branch hours of operation: Monday through Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.; Saturday: 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Note: (M-F & Saturdays, as needed).
* Projected start date of employment is August 26, 2026. Must have ability to travel to Pembroke Pines (for 3 days or more) for New Hire initial training and also some training in our Juno Beach/Palm Beach Gardens location.
