Now Hiring: Dedicated and Caring Medication Technician (Med Tech)

Welcome Home Oak Harbor is a warm and welcoming assisted living community located in the beautiful Oak Harbor, Washington. We are dedicated to providing our residents with exceptional care and a comfortable, supportive environment where they can thrive. We are currently seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medication Technician (Med Tech) to join our dedicated team and play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents.

Responsibilities:

Administer medications to residents according to physician orders and facility policies and procedures. This includes oral, topical, inhaled, and other routes of administration as trained and permitted by state regulations.
Accurately document medication administration in resident charts and electronic medication administration records (eMAR).
Observe residents for any adverse reactions to medications and report observations to the appropriate nursing staff and/or physician.
Assist with ordering and stocking medications, ensuring proper storage and security.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other members of the care team regarding medication-related information.
Take and record vital signs as directed.
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed, such as personal care, mobility, and dining, fostering their independence and dignity.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized medication cart and work environment.
Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Participate in staff meetings and in-service training as required.
Provide compassionate and respectful care to all residents.

Qualifications:

Valid Medication Technician certification/license as required by the state of Washington.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience working as a Med Tech in an assisted living or similar healthcare setting preferred.
Knowledge of common medications, their uses, and potential side effects.
Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
Excellent observation and reporting skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect resident rights.
Basic computer skills for electronic documentation.
Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
