Full Job Description

The Rogers Manufacturing Company is a Plastic Injection Molding Company in the Middletown, CT area. We have a 125 year history in making well-crafted products. Our company is an Equal Opportunity Employer offering competitive wages and benefit packages: Health, Dental, Life and 401K.

Currently, we are seeking an experienced mold maker to join our Tool Room team.

If you have experience building, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting plastic injection molds and enjoy working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Construct, repair, modify, and maintain plastic injection molds.
Build new molds from blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
Troubleshoot mold issues and perform repairs to minimize production downtime.
Set up tooling and equipment according to mold requirements, materials, and production tolerances.
Perform inspections using precision measuring instruments, gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other quality tools.
Ensure molds meet quality, dimensional, and production specifications.
Work closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to improve mold performance.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Communicate professionally with coworkers, supervisors, vendors, and customers.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience as a Mold Maker, Tool & Die Maker, Toolmaker, or Mold Repair Technician preferred.
Experience with plastic injection molding required.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics.
Strong knowledge of mold construction, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
Experience using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and indicators.
Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Education

State of CT mold maker or tool maker journeyman certification (or equivalent)
Associates Degree (preferred)
Experience using Bridgeports, ProtoTRAK milling machine 3 axis (preferred)
CAD/CAM Software experience (Edgecam, Mastercam, etc.)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
