Full Job Description

COMMISSARY KITCHEN // PREP COOK

LB. MINI-MART is seeking full-time prep cook for our Commissary Kitchen located in South Portland, within Fork Food Lab.

Full-time work consists of 32-40/hours a week broken into 4-5 shifts.

Ideal Candidate:

2+ years of kitchen experience
Proficient knife skills (Personal Knife Roll preferred)
Understanding of food and equipment safety
Competency in proper food storage and handling
Experience with large format prep projects
Communicates kindly, efficiently, and with respect
Has a team mentality and is willing to be flexible and problem solve
Can take ownership of mistakes, learn from them, and move forward

Position Duties Include:

The ability to understand, organize, and prioritize detailed prep lists
Keep a clean and organized prep station
Takes direction and feedback well
Working with a sense of urgency throughout the day
Upholding high standards for yourself and others
Learning and understanding recipes, including knowledge of the correct pars and shelf life of ingredients
Can meet physical demands of position including pulling, pushing, carrying and lifting up to 50lbs, and standing for extended periods of time

Compensation + Benefits:

$18-22/hr commensurate with experience
