Full-time, year-round golf pro needed with a passion for teaching golf and running RedTail’s Junior Golf Program

Overview

A high energy, self-starting golf professional who has strong customer service and interpersonal skills is needed at RedTail Golf Center in Portland, Oregon. Named one of Golf Digest’s 100 Best Clubfitters as well as one of Golf World Magazine’s 100 Best Pro Shops, RedTail Golf Center is one of the premier golf operations in the country. Our facility includes a championship 18-hole golf course, 80 stall state-of-the-art practice facility, full-service retail/custom fitting pro shop and the RYGTM Golf Academy where we utilize 14 individual Trackman hitting bays to custom fit and instruct at the highest level. The position of golf professional at RedTail is very well compensated and requires a person with strong motivation and desire to achieve a high degree of professional and financial success. RedTail is also part of a larger organization with aggressive expansion plans and the position offers significant opportunities to grow within the company. RedTail is located on the West Side of Portland, Oregon in the beautiful Northwest with skiing, biking, boating, hiking and, of course, incredible golf, all within 1 hour. It is a wonderful place to live and work!

Responsibilities

Golf Instruction (private lessons, golf schools, group clinics and junior instructional programs)
Running and managing our Half-Day and Full Day Junior Camps
Running and managing our Junior Golf Academy and Junior Club Team
Golf Course Operations
Other duties as may be assigned by Head Professional or other management personnel.

The position of Lead Junior Golf Instructor at RedTail Golf Center has a strong focus on golf instruction, running and managing our Junior Golf Camps and further development of our Junior Golf Program. All golf professionals are responsible for completing orientation and continuing education. Responsibilities also include accomplishing assigned tasks, working in an efficient team-oriented manner and managing multiple tasks in an extremely fast paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is broken into three categories

Commission - $55,000 and UP

Commissions are based upon the number of instructional hours you perform. Golf Professionals at RedTail range from 500 - 2,000 instructional hours per year. Commissions are paid for private lessons, golf schools, clinics, junior programs and other instructional programs. In 2021, instructional commissions of more than $1,100,000 were paid to our Golf Professionals.

Bonus - performance based

The second component of your compensation is bonus based upon your performance relative to both teaching and non-teaching time as well as overall facility performance. Bonuses are paid monthly, quarterly and/or annually.

Benefits

Medical, dental and vision coverage is offered on a 50-50 split for individual coverage with the company. Educational assistance is also offered as to be determined by management.
