Full Job Description

Senior Architectural Design Specialist

We’re hiring a Senior Architectural Design Specialist for a long-term, hybrid contract opportunity supporting complex remodels, expansions, and new construction projects across a multi-brand healthcare and retail facility portfolio.

This role is ideal for an experienced architectural or interior design professional who enjoys solving for real-world site conditions—not simply applying a standard prototype. You’ll bring strong technical design expertise, project ownership, and stakeholder management skills to projects ranging from full remodels to complex, site-specific facility improvements.

What you’ll do:

Develop, review, revise, and manage CAD drawings, construction documents, design packages, and project documentation.
Lead design coordination for remodels, expansions, and new facility projects from scope through execution.
Partner with design leadership, construction, real estate, facilities, operations, procurement, IT, regulatory teams, architects, consultants, and external partners.
Review architectural and engineering plans, specifications, submittals, RFIs, addenda, change requests, scopes of work, and proposals.
Identify design risks, constructability concerns, code-compliance issues, schedule impacts, and design-related cost considerations early in the project lifecycle.
Create practical, cost-effective solutions that align with internal standards, project needs, and applicable building codes.
Support construction administration and help improve design standards, drafting templates, specifications, and documentation processes.
Independently manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining quality, accuracy, and clear communication.

What we’re looking for:

7+ years of progressive experience in architectural drafting, commercial interior design, interior architecture, design development, construction documentation, or facility design.
Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; experience with additional CAD or BIM tools is a plus.
Strong knowledge of building codes, ADA requirements, life-safety regulations, construction specifications, and permitting processes.
Commercial design or facility experience strongly preferred; residential-only backgrounds are less aligned with this opportunity.
Experience coordinating architectural and engineering drawings and collaborating with architects, consultants, construction managers, and cross-functional business partners.
A portfolio demonstrating completed, real-world projects. Candidates should be prepared to discuss project scale, scope, square footage, budget, complexity, and personal contribution.
Experience with specialty healthcare, clinical, or technically complex facilities—and medical or diagnostic equipment coordination—is a plus.
A collaborative, adaptable approach with strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to build trust across diverse stakeholder groups.

Role details:

Senior Architectural Design Specialist / Senior Architectural Designer
Long-term rolling contract, initially structured as a 2-year engagement
Hybrid: 3 days per week onsite at the Vancouver, WA headquarters
Start date: As soon as the ideal candidate is identified
