Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team of Nurses, CRNA, Dental Assistants and Dentists. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and have the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with a strong background in either Critical Care or PACU role. This is a hybrid role that encompasses circulating in surgery, pre- and perioperative care, as well as working on medical clearances and gathering medical histories.

The position is Full-Time: Four, 10-hour shifts per week: Tuesday through Friday. Hours are on average 7:00am to 5:00pm, with fluctuations due to patient care. Overtime is available as the practice requires. No required weekend coverage, but employee could elect to pick up on occasion if the need is there. Role may be open to expanded hours as clinic needs dictate.

Duties

Assessing and recording the patient health history
Assessing medical clearance for implant surgery
Answering clinical questions for patients
Circulating in surgery
Providing clinical answers & information to front office teammates for patient call-in questions
Entering detailed patient chart notes into practice management software
Pre-operative and post-operative patient instructions
Providing prescription information regarding dosage, frequency and duration of use, and side effects
Starting patient IVs
Monitoring and recording vital signs for sedated patients
Phlebotomy for blood testing
PRF
Point-of-care medical testing for glucose or other as required
Post-operative care
Recovering sedated patients
Discharging patients from the surgical center when safety criteria are met
Discharge instructions and documentation
First responder in clinical emergencies

Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:

BS Degree in Nursing required
Active nursing license in the state of OR
ACLS Certification
Ability to answer patient questions in a clear and concise manner
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Ability to educate patients on products, services, treatments and medications
Engaging and friendly; excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a stressful environment and maintain a pleasant demeanor
Desire to learn dental healthcare, oral health, dental implants, dental prosthetics, dental terminology, dental instruments, restorative procedures and processes.
Surgical Anesthesia/Sedation process and procedures
Problem solving and troubleshooting
Passionate about patient care
2-5 years of experience required
