Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, with experience in fine dining and catering. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. This position requires excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and recipe development to create innovative dishes that meet our guests' expectations.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure adherence to food safety and quality standards.
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes, ensuring consistency and excellence in presentation.
Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies as needed, and minimizing waste.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
Collaborate with the catering team for events, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality meals.
Implement effective shift management practices to optimize workflow during peak service times.
Foster a positive team environment through effective communication and leadership.

Requirements

Proven experience in a culinary role within the food industry, preferably as a Sous Chef or similar position.
Strong background in fine dining service and restaurant management is highly desirable.
Experience with banquet operations and dietary department practices is a plus.
Proficient in food handling techniques, food safety regulations, and kitchen management principles.
Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead staff effectively.
Strong organizational skills with experience in inventory management and control.
Knowledge of menu planning, food production techniques, and catering services is essential.
Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred; bartending experience is an added advantage.
Exceptional cooking skills with a passion for creating high-quality dishes that delight guests.
