Our organization is looking for an Accounting Manager to join our growing team.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for supporting leadership in managing the organization’s accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting processes, and compliance requirements. This position plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, improving accounting processes, and providing timely financial information to support strategic business decisions. The Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting activities, assist with month-end and year-end close processes, and contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, inventory accounting, and general ledger activities.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
Lead and coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with company policies.
Assist with annual audits, tax filings, lender reporting, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Review account reconciliations and investigate variances, discrepancies, and unusual transactions.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes.
Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to improve operational and financial performance.
Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable accounting standards.
Supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff while promoting professional development and accountability.
Collaborate with operations, sales, purchasing, and management teams to support business objectives.
Prepare ad hoc financial analyses, reports, and special projects as assigned by senior management.
Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Applicable work experience will be considered.
Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
Prior experience in a manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or inventory-intensive environment preferred.
Experience supervising accounting personnel and managing accounting processes if preferred.
Experience with financial statement preparation, audits, budgeting, and cash flow management.
ERP system experience required; experience with systems such as Acumatica, Sage, NetSuite, SAP, or similar platforms preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS AND ABILITIES)

Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and data analysis.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage projects, and drive process improvements.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
Strong understanding of inventory accounting, cost accounting, and operational finance concepts preferred.
Ability to identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and enhanced financial controls.
