Landscape Maintenance Account Manager

Terra Forma Landscaping | Richmond, VA
Full-Time | $55,000–$65,000 Base Salary + Commission
Total Compensation Potential: $60,000–$85,000+

Terra Forma Landscaping is one of Richmond’s premier residential landscaping companies, known for thoughtful design, meticulous craftsmanship, proactive communication, and a client experience built on trust and care.

We are looking for a Landscape Maintenance Account Manager to serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of high-end residential maintenance clients. This person will build strong client relationships, inspect properties regularly, identify needs before they become problems, recommend enhancement work, and help ensure every client feels cared for, heard, and confident in Terra Forma.

While our Maintenance Field Managers manage the crews, our Account Managers manage the client relationship. A great Account Manager earns such strong trust that clients would never want to leave because they love working with their AM.

What You’ll Do

Manage an assigned book of residential maintenance clients
Build strong, long-term client relationships
Learn each client’s property, preferences, expectations, and priorities
Communicate proactively and professionally with clients
Visit properties regularly to inspect landscape condition, service quality, and follow-up needs
Use Terra Forma’s site visit reporting tool to document property issues, opportunities, and next steps
Identify plant health issues, turf concerns, irrigation needs, seasonal maintenance needs, and enhancement opportunities
Recommend and sell thoughtful improvements that align with the client’s goals
Prepare or coordinate enhancement proposals
Sell seasonal color, plantings, pruning, bed renovations, turf repairs, mulch, cleanup work, and other maintenance-related enhancements
Partner with Maintenance Field Managers to address quality concerns and client expectations
Track follow-up items so issues do not fall through the cracks
Support annual renewals, contract updates, pricing adjustments, and service-level recommendations

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven landscape professional who is organized, horticulturally knowledgeable, and comfortable managing a large book of clients.

You should be:

Strong at building relationships and earning client trust
Highly organized and consistent with follow-through
Comfortable communicating with homeowners, managers, crews, and vendors
Skilled at handling client concerns professionally and thoughtfully
Experienced with plants, horticulture, turf, pruning, seasonal color, and landscape maintenance
Able to identify enhancement opportunities and communicate their value
Comfortable walking properties, noticing details, and documenting issues
Proactive, detail-oriented, and accountable
Comfortable using technology and digital reporting tools
Motivated by both client satisfaction and sales success
Professional, positive, and team-oriented

Required Experience

3+ years of experience in landscape maintenance, horticulture, account management, landscape sales, or a related field
Strong plant and landscape maintenance knowledge
Ability to identify common plant, pest, disease, turf, and property care issues
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage a large book of clients and prioritize follow-up
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to walk properties and work outdoors throughout the day

Preferred Experience

Prior landscape maintenance account management experience
Enhancement sales experience
Residential landscape maintenance experience
Horticulture, turf, plant health care, or landscape design knowledge
Experience with LMN or similar landscape management software
Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills

Compensation & Benefits

$55,000–$65,000 base salary, depending on experience
2% commission on enhancement sales
Current Account Managers are projected to earn approximately $5,000–$20,000+ in annual enhancement commissions
Estimated total compensation range: $60,000–$85,000+, depending on sales performance
