Job Summary
DND Solutions is seeking an experienced Lead Electronic Security System Technician to supervise crews installing intrusion detection, access control, CCTV, and IP video surveillance systems at secure facilities throughout the United States.
This is a hands-on leadership position. The Lead Technician will direct daily field activities, perform installations alongside the crew, monitor quality and productivity, troubleshoot system issues, and ensure work is completed in accordance with project requirements, manufacturer standards, and applicable codes.
Projects may include correctional facilities, military installations, federal buildings, healthcare facilities, commercial facilities, and other controlled-access environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise electronic security installation crews.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor safety, quality, and production.
- Install, terminate, test, program, and troubleshoot IDS, access control, CCTV, and IP video surveillance systems.
- Install control panels, power supplies, card readers, locks, request-to-exit devices, door contacts, sensors, cameras, intercoms, and related equipment.
- Configure basic access control, alarm, camera, and recording functions.
- Read and interpret security drawings, wiring diagrams, risers, door schedules, and sequences of operation.
- Coordinate work with project managers, customers, electrical contractors, door hardware contractors, network personnel, and other trades.
- Perform quality-control inspections and correct deficiencies.
- Maintain daily reports, testing records, redlines, as-builts, and material documentation.
- Identify field conflicts, material shortages, access issues, and schedule impacts.
- Support commissioning, punch-list completion, customer training, and project closeout.
- Ensure crew compliance with all site safety and security requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of electronic security or low-voltage installation experience.
- Previous experience as a Lead Technician, Foreman, or Crew Supervisor.
- Hands-on experience with intrusion detection, access control, and CCTV systems.
- Experience programming, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting electronic security systems.
- Working knowledge of door hardware, relays, supervised circuits, power supplies, and low-voltage electrical principles.
- Basic understanding of IP networking, PoE, DHCP, static addressing, and network switches.
- Ability to read construction drawings, security plans, wiring diagrams, and door schedules.
- Ability to lead crews, plan daily work, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass drug screening, background checks, and project-specific security screening.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, use aerial lifts, and work above ceilings or in confined spaces.
- Ability to travel nationwide and remain away from home for extended periods.
Certification Requirements
Applicants must hold at least one current industry certification, manufacturer certification, or documented manufacturer training related to electronic security systems.

- BICSI Technician or Installer certification
Equivalent certifications and documented manufacturer training will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Multiple manufacturer certifications.
- State alarm, low-voltage, access control, or electronic security license.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience with enterprise access control and video management systems.
- Experience with detention-grade door hardware.
- Experience working in correctional, military, federal, or other secure facilities.
- Familiarity with FICAM, PIV, CAC, UL 294, UL 1076, or UL 2050 requirements.
- Active federal or Department of Defense clearance.
