Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Front End Clerk - Lead to join our team at a busy grocery store. This role is essential in ensuring smooth operations at the front end, providing exceptional customer service, and leading a team of clerks. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a passion for retail sales, and the ability to supervise effectively.

Duties

Oversee daily operations at the front end, ensuring efficient cashiering and customer service.
Train and mentor front end clerks on best practices in customer service, cash handling, and merchandising.
Manage point-of-sale (POS) systems to facilitate smooth transactions.
Conduct product demonstrations to enhance customer engagement and promote sales.
Implement upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities.
Maintain an organized and stocked front end area, ensuring all products are displayed attractively.
Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly with excellent phone etiquette.
Perform basic math calculations for cash handling and retail math tasks.
Collaborate with management to develop strategies for improving sales performance.

Experience

Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is required.
Supervisory experience is preferred, demonstrating leadership capabilities in a fast-paced setting.
Bilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply as it enhances communication with diverse customers.
Familiarity with cashiering duties, including cash handling and POS systems.
Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with customers and team members.
