Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail Assistant General Manager to help oversee daily store operations and lead our retail team. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, exceptional customer service abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of retail sales, inventory control, and team development. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a thriving retail environment while fostering a positive shopping experience for customers. The Retail Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring smooth store functioning, motivating staff, and maintaining high standards of service and sales performance.

Duties

Supervise daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
Lead and motivate retail staff to achieve sales targets and deliver excellent customer service
Manage inventory levels through effective stock control, merchandising, and purchasing strategies
Oversee cashiering activities, including cash handling, POS transactions, and balancing registers
Conduct employee orientation, training, and development programs to enhance team performance
Recruit new team members through interviewing and selection processes
Implement marketing initiatives to promote store products and increase sales
Monitor store budget adherence, assist with payroll processing, and maintain accurate bookkeeping records
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and store procedures
Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionally to maintain high customer satisfaction levels
Coordinate shift management to ensure adequate staffing coverage during operating hours
Manage pricing strategies, promotional displays, and merchandising standards to optimize sales potential
Utilize strong communication skills to foster a collaborative team environment and facilitate effective staff meetings

Qualifications

Proven experience in retail management or supervisory roles within grocery stores or similar retail environments
Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to supervise teams effectively
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Multilingual or bilingual abilities are preferred to serve diverse customer bases effectively
Proficiency in retail math, POS systems, inventory management software, and basic bookkeeping tools
Knowledge of merchandising techniques, marketing strategies, and sales management principles
Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and perform cashiering duties with professionalism
Experience in employee recruitment, training & development, scheduling, and payroll processing
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
Customer service-oriented mindset with a focus on creating positive shopping experiences
Flexibility to adapt to changing store needs and demonstrate leadership in various situations
