Full Job Description

The Director of ABI is responsible for ensuring that effective, efficient, and dynamic program administration and quality assurance systems are in place across agency services. The Director of ABI supports the agency residential, as needed to enrich the lives of people with brain injuries and other disabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

BA/BS degree required
Possession of a valid driver’s license and an agreement to use one’s personal vehicle for business purposes.
Three years management experience working with people with developmental disabilities, ABI experience strongly preferred.
Acceptable Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) and fingerprint check.
Acceptable screen against the OIG-LEIE (Office of the Inspector General’s List of Excluded Individuals and Entities).
Physical capabilities required to perform direct service duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The Director of ABI shall work closely with the COO in the administration of Agency residential services. The Director of ABI shall assist the COO in the following areas of assigned responsibility.
Oversee and assume responsibility for the administration of the ABI and other related disability residences.
Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory and licensing/accreditation standards.A
Assist the Vice-President & COO and other senior managers in the development, implementation, and monitoring of operational practices, policies, and procedures, in coordinating services across programs, and in general administrative activities/functions.
Ensure that assigned staff’s communication with families, employers, associates and others in the community represent the agency positively and professionally.
Ensure timely and consistent communication of relevant information to DDS personnel, parents/guardians and other providers.
Represent Agency positively and professionally; assist in public relations efforts.
Serve as liaison between Agency ABI services, DDS, MRC and other service providers.
Assume supervision responsibility for assigned staff, including but not limited to, training, corrective feedback, conformance to Agency policies, adherence to schedules and program plans; and with assistance from COO or designee, implementation of disciplinary procedures.
Implement staff evaluation policy and procedures.
Monitor employee electronic payroll timecards
Develop specific and scheduled feedback opportunities for staff.
Assume various other and related duties as assigned by the COO.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES (Quality Assurance Specific)

Keep abreast of regulatory standards and trends for service quality.
Perform all duties in conformance to, or in recognition of, existing Agency philosophy, policies and procedures and funding source regulations.
Oversee periodic evaluations regarding service quality and conformance to performance expectations (internal and external).
Promote quality services by enforcing established policies, procedures and regulatory standards related to quality assurance.
Assist COO in establishing quality standards by reviewing regulatory requirements; devising best practice methods and procedures, and facilitating collection of data and metrics to measure quality of programs and success of systems.
In coordination with COO, perform root-cause analysis and other problem-solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements related to service quality. Identify both problems and solutions; and provide recommendations.
In coordination with COO, develop and implement system for internal quality assurance audits; serve as primary resource for problem identification, resolution and continuous service quality improvement. As needed, assist with development of new systems to improve quality of services and/or data collection.
Ensure all Fire Drills and Safety Plans meet DDS requirements, and complete/update and submit EESPs in conformance to regulatory mandates, in coordination with DRS/DSS.
Maintain and improve systems for tracking referral, intake, transfer, and discharge activities.
Maintain system for reviewing and tracking financial records for residents and assist as needed with financial audits.
Monitor HCSIS Alerts/ Process Management to ensure conformance to regulations and to address required Agency follow-up
Ensure adequate procedures and protection for administration of program and resident finances.
