Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Ayudante de Cocina to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, kitchen cleanliness, and supporting the overall dining experience. This role offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment, contributing to the delivery of exceptional guest service.

Duties

Assist with food preparation, including basic cooking and meal assembly
Support kitchen staff with food handling, knife skills, and meat cutting as needed
Maintain cleanliness by washing dishes, cleaning workstations, and sanitizing kitchen tools
Help with food safety procedures and proper storage of ingredients
Support catering events and banquet setups when required
Assist in order taking and serving guests at the counter or table
Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable
Contribute to beverage preparation, including coffee or barista tasks if applicable
Ensure guest relations are positive through friendly communication and excellent customer service
Follow all health regulations and dietary guidelines to ensure safe food handling

Requirements

Previous experience in food service, catering, or hospitality is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
Basic knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques
Strong communication skills and excellent phone etiquette for guest interactions
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
Flexibility to assist with various duties such as bussing, dishwashing, or serving as needed
Experience with restaurant POS systems like Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable is a plus
Familiarity with kitchen tools such as knives and meat cutting equipment is desirable
Ability to maintain a positive attitude and work well within a team setting
Prior experience in hotel or hospitality environments, including banquet or catering experience, is advantageous
