Project Controls / Scheduler

AIS Professional & Technical Solutions (AIS) is a multidisciplinary consulting firm providing strategy planning, project management, engineering, and design services to the pharmaceutical, industrial, commercial, and clinical sectors. For more than two decades, AIS has supported established organizations by delivering comprehensive, enterprise‑wide solutions that integrate industry best practices and minimize operational risk.

The Project Controls / Scheduler will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and controlling the integrated master schedule for a Project Program. This role oversees scheduling activities across five major subprograms from Manufacturing Quality Control, Laboratory, Infrastructure, and Packaging Consolidation. The Project Program is a long-term strategic initiative, with an estimated duration of 7–8 years, aimed at improving, upgrading, and/or replacing facility assets to ensure reliability, compliance, product supply and sustained operational performance. The program scope includes assets supporting utilities, production, laboratory, and warehouse operations, including equipment, systems, and both interior and exterior facility infrastructure. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate planning, execution tracking, and successful delivery from project initiation through final turnover to end users.

By driving modernization, standardization, and asset technology upgrades, the program plays a critical role in strengthening manufacturing performance and sustaining operational excellence.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and continuously update the integrated master schedule for the overall Program and all associated subprograms.
Create detailed schedules covering all project phases, including initiation, planning (FEL), design, procurement, construction, implementation, commissioning, qualification, and handover.
Ensure alignment and coordination across all individual projects within the Program.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders across multiple functions, including Program Leader, PMO Leader, Program Managers, Project Engineers, Operations, Engineering, A/E firms, EHS, Quality, Manufacturing, Science & Technology, and Global Support teams.
Facilitate schedule development workshops and review sessions to ensure inputs are accurate, complete, and aligned with project objectives.
Identify and analyze critical paths, schedule risks, and potential delays, and propose mitigation strategies.
Monitor progress against baseline schedules and provide regular updates, reports, and performance metrics to project leadership and stakeholders.
Integrate project schedules with resource planning, cost control, and overall program milestones.
Ensure consistency and standardization of scheduling practices across all subprograms.
Support decision-making by providing what-if analyses, scenario planning, and schedule forecasting.

Required qualifications & experience

Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
Minimum 10+ years of experience in project controls, scheduling, or program planning for large capital projects or programs, preferably in pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within a program structure.
Experience working across cross-functional and global teams, including external partners such as A/E firms.
Solid understanding of project lifecycle phases, including FEL, design, construction, commissioning, and qualification.
Bilingual (English/Spanish), written and verbal, is required.

Preferred skills & certifications

Strong proficiency in scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Ability to work independently while driving collaboration and alignment across diverse teams.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.

Physical & Work Requirements

Ability to sit for extended periods and operate standard office equipment.
May require occasional walking through industrial or construction areas.
Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required.
Ability to work on-site at manufacturing facilities.
