Tax Associate

San Juan, Puerto Rico | On-Site

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to join a highly respected professional services firm in Puerto Rico. This role offers the opportunity to work directly on tax incentives, compliance matters, regulatory filings, and strategic projects supporting a diverse portfolio of local and international clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical accounting knowledge with tax, regulatory, and business advisory work in a collaborative and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and analyze applications for tax incentive decrees under Puerto Rico's incentive programs.
Coordinate and manage filings and administrative processes with government agencies.
Review financial statements, tax documentation, and corporate records.
Monitor compliance requirements related to tax incentive decrees and regulatory obligations.
Prepare annual reports and compliance filings for clients.
Support due diligence and special projects related to tax and regulatory matters.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on client engagements.
Research and analyze tax and regulatory issues affecting clients.

Qualifications

CPA license in Puerto Rico required.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in taxation, tax compliance, incentives, accounting, or related areas.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Professional communication skills in both English and Spanish.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Experience

Experience with Puerto Rico tax incentives and compliance programs.
Knowledge of SURI, Single Business Portal, and other government platforms.
Experience working with government agencies and regulatory filings.
Background in professional services, consulting, accounting, or legal environments.
Exposure to due diligence, compliance reviews, or regulatory matters.

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive salary: $60,000 – $64,000
