Full Job Description

Objective

Establish and increase the Carolyn Rowan Center for Women’s Health and Wellness social media presence as a trusted, search-optimized authority through high-quality research communication.

Scope of Services

Work with the Mount Sinai Health System Social Media team to manage organic Facebook and Instagram strategy for the Rowan Women’s Health Center, including the end-to-end creation of high-impact Reels and educational posts that translate clinical expertise into patient-friendly narratives. Responsibilities also include community management, SEO-driven caption writing, and executing social-first campaigns to drive brand trust and digital engagement.

Content Strategy & Management

Social Media Calendar: Develop and maintain a rolling 30-day content calendar for Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
Posting Cadence: Manage a frequency of 4-5 posts per week.
Search-First Optimization: Ensure every caption, alt-text, and video title is optimized for SEO based on provided keywords or industry trends.

Content Creation & Production

Science Communication: Translate clinical research papers or physician interviews into consumer-friendly social assets.
Creative Briefing: Submit weekly briefs to the central Social Media Department for graphic design and video assets.
Content: Produce social media videos and infographics using mobile-first editing tools.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

Stakeholder Interviews: Conduct weekly check-ins with Rowan Center leadership and physicians to source new innovations and patient stories.
Department Alignment: Attend weekly status meetings with the Mount Sinai Health System Social Media Department to ensure brand alignment and resource sharing.

Reporting & Optimization

Monthly Performance Report: Deliver a comprehensive report by the end of each month.
Reports must include:
Growth Metrics: Reach, engagement rate, video views, and follower growth.
Actionable Insights: Analysis of what worked, what didn't, and a "Pivot Plan" for the following month.

Community Management

Engagement: Monitor and respond to comments/DMs within 24 hours during business days.
Escalation: Promptly escalate medical inquiries or sensitive patient feedback to the appropriate clinical department.

Terms and Commitment

Time Commitment: 20 hours per week
Hourly Rate: $30.00
Location: Hybrid – must be able to attend in-person events and be on-site for filming.
Evaluation & Feedback: Social Media account performance will be evaluated monthly. This review will focus on progress toward quarterly objectives, content effectiveness, and alignment with Mount Sinai Health System’s broader social media strategy.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in social media marketing, with a strong emphasis on content creation for social media platforms.
Experience using native platform analytics and third-party tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite).
Proficiency in mobile editing tools (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere) to produce high-retention Reels and short-form video assets.
Demonstrated ability to produce engaging, high-quality short-form videos and infographics tailored to social media channels including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook.
Experience in storytelling within healthcare, nonprofit, or mission-driven environments is highly desirable.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset and receptiveness to feedback.
Must be based in the New York City area and available for on-site filming as required.

Pay: Up to $30.00 per hour

Work Location: Hybrid remote in New York, NY 10029
