JOB TITLE: Human Resources Generalist
Salary: $32.00 - $37.00 DOE
NATURE AND SCOPE: The Human Resources Generalist has the main responsibility for recruitment, onboarding and team member relations. This position is also responsible for assisting the Human Resources Manager in ensuring all Human Resource functions for the facility are managed in a professional manner, conducive with plant policies, procedures and culture. In addition, this position is responsible to ensure the company is in compliance with all HR related state and Federal requirements. This position is generally responsible for the supervision of the day-to-day HR activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise full time and seasonal HR staff.
- Handle job related issues including: personality conflicts, supervisor/employee relations, harassment, drug & alcohol, medical, and personal problems.
- Prepare and distribute various types of communications for plant-wide distribution.
- Develop, coordinate, implement & track plant training needs, including but not limited to supervisory skills, leadership development, safety training and new hire orientation.
- Coordinate office staff to ensure accuracy and completion of required work in a timely manner.
- Responsible to ensure all employees trained in all food safety guidelines and allergen control.
- Ensure compliance with current HR policies related to: I-9 verification, discrimination, DOL regulations, drug & alcohol policy, harassment, FMLA, ADA, Worker’s Compensation, Leaves of Absence, etc.
· Responsible for completing team member status changes as they relate to pay changes, organizational changes and terminations.
· Responsible for recruitment efforts both internally and externally of hourly and exempt positions including posting positions, maintaining applicant data in accordance with company guideline and scheduling interviews.
· Assist team members with benefits enrollment and questions.
· Work closely with HR Manager to administrate workers compensation program, light duty arrangements and return to work.
· Support any other HR related requests, systems, processes and procedures; support department managers as it relates to human resources.
· Required to work on site and be punctual to support production and operations team member inquiries/personnel relations.
· Responsible for ensuring HR material is updated, communicated and distributed. Including, postings of legally required publications and internal notices to team members.
· Supports any other HR duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
· Bilingual (English & Spanish)
· 2 years experience in a HR generalist role or in a similar position in a manufacturing environment.
· Good understanding of all State and Federal Human Resource regulations and requirements.
· Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
· Excellent interpersonal skills.
· Excellent organizational skills.
· Ability to be proactive and think critically independently.
· Proven ability to interact professionally between departments and at all levels of the organization.
· Skilled in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion.
· Impeccable ethics, integrity and standards.
· Strong Computer Skills; including Excel and Word.
