Full Job Description

Job Summary

The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for building and maintaining relationships between the organization and the community it serves (Racine, Kenosha, Walworth, Rock and Jefferson counties). This role supports outreach planning, community engagement, event coordination, volunteer support, and communication efforts that increase awareness of programs, services, and resources.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement outreach strategies to increase community awareness of the organization’s programs and services.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with local organizations, healthcare professionals, and businesses to expand referral networks and enhance community partnerships.
Build and maintain relationships with community members, local organizations, schools, businesses, service providers, and other stakeholders.
Plan, coordinate, and attend outreach events, presentations, workshops, resource fairs, and community meetings.
Create or distribute outreach materials such as flyers, brochures, newsletters, social media content, and program updates.
Identify community needs and barriers to participation and communicate feedback to leadership or program staff.
Recruit, train, schedule, and support volunteers or outreach partners as needed.
Track outreach activities, participation, contacts, referrals, and outcomes for reporting purposes.
Represent the organization in a professional, welcoming, and mission-focused manner.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging, accurate referrals, and effective follow-up with community members.

Communication & Collaboration

Collaborate with Culture & Engagement Coordinator to ensure consistent messaging and branding internally and externally.
Collaborate with the Grant Specialist to support grant research, application preparation, and submission processes.
Maintain calendars and content for engagement activities and culture initiatives.
Generate Mailchimp communications.
Generate and maintain social media accounts.

Metrics & Continuous Improvement

Track participation, engagement metrics, and feedback to measure program effectiveness.
Prepare reports and recommendations to improve engagement strategies.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with local organizations, healthcare professionals, and businesses to expand referral networks and enhance community partnerships.

Qualifications

Degree in Human Resources, Communications, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience in community outreach, customer service, nonprofit work, social services, case management, education, or related public-facing work.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort speaking with individuals, groups, and community partners.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities, events, and deadlines.
Ability to work respectfully with diverse populations and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
Basic computer skills, including email, Microsoft Office, data entry, and online communication tools.
Reliable transportation and ability to travel across 5-county service area (Racine, Kenosha, Walworth, Jefferson and Rock counties).
Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of local community resources, service systems, and referral networks.
Experience planning events, facilitating presentations, or coordinating volunteers.
Comfort using social media or digital tools to support outreach campaigns.
Ability to build trust, listen actively, solve problems, and follow through with community members and partners.
