Role

We seek a professional and organized Line Cook to prepare food to the chef’s specifications and set up stations for our daily changing menu. The Line Cook will work with other team members in the kitchen to execute signature dishes and assist the Kitchen Manager and Production Manager with their daily tasks. Successful candidates will be organized, self-motivated, and have problem-solving abilities.

Line Cook Job Responsibilities

Understanding of cooking skills, knife handling, and safety.
Ability to take direction from the Kitchen Manager, Production Manager, and Chef.
Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the staff.
Maintain and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion.
Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
Ability to work with speed and efficiency.
Fortitude to work in a fast-paced environment.
Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
Follows the proper food rotation system and notifies the Kitchen Manager of any discrepancies or shortages.
Clean and sanitize cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.
Perform inventory checks and complete food storage logs.
Follow all Safety and Sanitation Policies and Procedures.
Follow designated Opening and Closing Checklists.
Other duties as assigned.

Line Cook Qualifications/Skills

2+ years as a Line Production Cook in high volume restaurant kitchen preferred
Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
Ability to read and follow a recipe by weighing and measuring ingredients
Advanced knife handling, sauté, fry, and steam experience
Proof of eligibility to work in the US
Ability to understand both written and spoken English
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods (minimum of 8 hours a day)
Be able to reach, bend, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds

Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or GED
One to two years of experience as a Line Cook, Restaurant Cook, or Prep Cook
Certificate in Culinary Arts preferred
Experience with various cooking methods and procedures
Familiar with industry best practices
Serv-Safe Certified

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
