Full Job Description

GE Vernova is looking for CNC/EDM Machine Operators to join our manufacturing team in Parsippany, New Jersey. In this role, you will operate specialized electro-chemical machining equipment, ensuring components are produced safely, accurately and to the required quality standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manufacturing or machine operator who enjoys working with machinery, following technical instructions and producing high-quality components.

What you'll do

Set up and operate electro-chemical machining (ECM) equipment to cut metal components to precise specifications, using standard charts, manuals and established machining processes.
Review product operation sheets and plan machine operations for ECM processes.
Dress and maintain electrodes according to standard practices and part requirements, identifying any conditions that could make an electrode unusable.
Position and secure workpieces using clamps, vices and holding fixtures.
Adjust machine settings and acid flow through electrodes and onto the workpiece, monitoring the machining process closely.
Regularly check machine operation and electrode condition throughout the process.
Visually inspect finished components and use specified measuring instruments to ensure they meet required specifications.
Accurately record measurements and quality information, including accept/reject criteria and details of any defects.
Use electronic shop-floor systems to track parts as they move through the manufacturing process.
Maintain production and quality standards and promptly report unusual problems or conditions to your manager.
Follow all safety, quality and manufacturing procedures.

What you'll bring

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
At least 1 year of experience working as a machine operator in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and follow written work instructions, technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
Ability to follow verbal instructions and perform multiple tasks in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to use computerized shop-floor or production systems.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
A positive, team-oriented approach to working with colleagues.

Work schedule

This is a full-time manufacturing position, working Monday through Friday.

2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM
3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Overtime may be required, including occasional weekend shifts, depending on production requirements.

Additional requirements

Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
This position requires access to technical data that is subject to U.S. Government export-control restrictions. Candidates must therefore meet the applicable definition of a U.S. Person, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents and certain protected individuals. GE Vernova will require proof of status prior to employment.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Any offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen, where applicable.

Pay Transparency

The pay range for this position is $27.00/hr to $30.50/hr plus 10% shift differential. This posting is expected to remain open until a suitable candidate is identified.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
