Vital Fuel Systems, Inc. is growing, and we are hiring a Commercial or Industrial Electrician to join our traveling field team.
Our team installs the electrical infrastructure for mission-critical fuel systems supporting data centers, hospitals, and other essential facilities. This includes conduit, raceways, control wiring, supports, electrical components, and connections between fuel-system equipment and automated control systems.
This role is ideal for an electrician with approximately three to five years of commercial construction or industrial electrical experience. You should be comfortable bending conduit, installing raceways and supports, pulling wire, making terminations, and working from electrical drawings.
Fuel systems are a specialized area of the construction industry. Previous experience with fuel systems, PLCs, automation, or controls is helpful but not required. This is a hands-on electrical construction role, not a PLC programming position. We will train the right electrician on our specialized systems, installation methods, and quality standards.

For an employee in this position and pay range, the value of annual pay, overtime, bonuses, employer-paid benefits, retirement contributions, travel benefits, and other eligible compensation may exceed $120,000 annually. Actual compensation will vary based on experience, hours worked, travel, eligibility, and benefit participation.

What You’ll Do
- Perform commercial and industrial electrical installation on active construction projects.
- Bend and install conduit and multi-raceway systems according to project drawings, specifications, field conditions, and direction from project leadership.
- Install raceways, electrical supports, equipment supports, junction boxes, and related components.
- Pull, route, label, and terminate electrical and control wiring.
- Install low-voltage control wiring and electrical components that connect fuel-system equipment to control panels and automated systems.
- Read and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, construction drawings, control drawings, and equipment documentation.
- Learn to work from P&IDs, sequences of operation, and specialized fuel-system documentation.
- Install, label, ground, insulate, and test electrical systems and components.
- Assist with troubleshooting installation issues and identifying practical field solutions.
- Learn specialized control-wiring, system-testing, and fiber-termination methods as required.
- Operate lifts, forklifts, and other jobsite equipment after completing required training and authorization.
- Assist pipefitters, welders, technicians, and other trades when project needs require.
- Complete assigned work independently while coordinating with project managers, technicians, subcontractors, customers, and other trades.
- Follow applicable electrical codes, project specifications, company standards, and site-specific requirements.
- Document installations, inspections, repairs, testing activities, and project progress accurately.
- Follow all safety requirements, use required PPE, and proactively identify jobsite hazards.
- Participate in training and continuing education related to electrical installation, fuel systems, automation, and mission-critical construction.
What You’ll Bring
- Ideally, three to five years of commercial construction or industrial electrical installation experience.
- Hands-on experience bending conduit, installing raceways, pulling wire, making terminations, and installing electrical supports.
- Experience working as a commercial electrician, industrial electrician, electrical technician, construction electrician, or electrical installer.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, construction drawings, and equipment documentation.
- A strong electrical foundation with the willingness to learn Vital Fuel Systems’ specialized equipment, installation methods, and quality standards.
- Experience with low-voltage control wiring, PLCs, automation systems, generators, fuel systems, P&IDs, or mission-critical construction is helpful but not required.
- Experience in commercial construction, industrial facilities, manufacturing, utilities, data centers, power generation, or similar environments preferred.
- Ability to complete assigned work independently while collaborating with project leadership and other trades.
- Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- A dependable and adaptable approach to changing project needs and field conditions.
- Fluency in English, including speaking, reading, and writing.
- Ability to pass required background checks, drug screenings, and motor vehicle screenings.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain access to secure customer sites.
- A valid REAL ID-compliant driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to travel approximately 50%–95%, depending on project needs.
- Willingness to complete required safety training, certifications, and continuing education.
