Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Quality Control Manager to lead our quality assurance efforts across construction projects. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of quality control, ensuring compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications. As a key leader on our team, you will drive continuous improvement, uphold safety standards, and guarantee that every project meets the highest quality standards. Your expertise will help us deliver exceptional results while maintaining regulatory compliance and fostering a culture of excellence.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive quality control plans aligned with construction specifications, building codes (including plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and energy codes), and safety regulations.
Conduct detailed inspections and quality assessments on construction sites to verify adherence to plans, technical drawings, and regulatory standards.
Lead quality assurance processes by analyzing construction plans, specifications, and technical drawings to identify potential issues early in the project lifecycle.
Manage data collection efforts related to quality inspections, non-conformance reports, and compliance documentation to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with construction management teams to interpret technical drawings and ensure construction activities meet regulatory requirements and project standards.
Oversee construction regulatory compliance by monitoring adherence to federal safety regulations, local building codes, and industry best practices.
Supervise a team of inspectors and quality assurance personnel; provide training on construction quality standards, inspection procedures, and safety protocols.
Utilize construction management software to track project progress, document inspections, and generate reports for stakeholders.
Ensure that all construction activities comply with contracts, specifications, and applicable regulations while maintaining a focus on safety and quality.
Perform regular site visits to conduct thorough construction inspections, identify deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions promptly.

Experience

Proven experience in construction management with a strong focus on quality control inspection across diverse projects.
Extensive knowledge of construction regulation compliance including building codes (structural systems, mechanical, electrical), safety standards (federal construction safety regulations), and energy building codes.
Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings and analyze complex construction plans effectively.
Hands-on experience with construction management software tools for data collection, reporting, and project tracking.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams of inspectors or quality assurance personnel on active sites.
Familiarity with contracts management related to quality assurance scope of work within the construction industry.
Excellent analysis skills to identify issues early and implement effective solutions swiftly.
Prior experience in performing detailed construction inspections while ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and standards is highly desirable.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates shall possess experience commensurate with the complexity of the assigned project.

Required Experience

Minimum 3 years of construction experience on projects similar in scope and complexity.
Minimum 3 years of Quality Control responsibilities on commercial, institutional, healthcare,

RMS/QCS experience is preferred.

Federal Construction Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with experience on:

Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
USACE
NAVFAC
GSA
Federal healthcare facilities
Hospitals
Laboratories
Mission-critical facilities

Education and Certification Requirements

Qualification requirements vary based on the specific project. Candidates will be considered qualified when they possess:

Extensive, verifiable Quality Control experience on comparable Federal construction projects;
Current USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C) Certification
Experience and qualifications that clearly demonstrate competency equivalent to the educational requirements described in the project specifications.

Possess a degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management

Preferred Certifications

USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C)

OSHA 30-Hour Construction

EM 385-1-1 familiarity

Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
