Full Job Description

PLEASE FULLY READ JOB DESCRIPTION BEFORE APPLYING

Mentality Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dependable and patient-focused Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our outpatient mental health clinic. This role is primarily front office–based with minimal back office clinical duties as this is a psychiatric clinic.. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, professional, and comfortable working in a behavioral health environment.

Primary Responsibilities – Front Office

Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries professionally
Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
Complete medication prior authorizations with insurance companies
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic health record (EHR) system
Provide excellent customer service while supporting patients with empathy and discretion
Respond to patient inquiries and emails
Collect copays/co-insurance/deductables and any past due balances
Submit treatment authorization requests through various insurance portals

Secondary Responsibilities – Back Office

Obtain and document vital signs
Administer medication injections as permitted by certification and scope of practice
Perform daily Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) once trained and certified by the company - once trained, when needed.

Qualifications

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required
At least 6 months of front office Medical Assistant experience required
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
Previous experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations preferred
Previous medication prior authorization experience preferred
Behavioral health or outpatient clinic experience preferred
Bilingual preferred but not required
Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
Ability to follow all HIPAA privacy and confidentiality standards

**IMPORTANT**

Starting schedule will be 16-20 hours per week. Some traveling between Diamond Bar location and Chino Hills location required

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour
