Full Job Description

Travel Cardiac Cath Lab RN for a 13‑week local assignment in Rancho Mirage, California. Provides specialized nursing care for diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. Works closely with cardiologists, radiology staff, and interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver direct nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures.
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments before, during, and after procedures.
Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic status, and patient responses throughout procedures.
Administer medications and moderate sedation per physician orders and hospital protocols.
Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional Cath Lab procedures.
Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and sterile fields.
Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery, medications, and discharge instructions.
Recognize and respond promptly to emergency situations and changes in patient condition.
Document patient care accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR).
Collaborate with physicians, technologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, quality standards, and patient safety initiatives.

Qualifications:

Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Minimum of one year acute care RN experience.
Recent Cardiac Cath Lab experience.
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and unexpected clinical situations.
Ability to remain calm and professional in high‑pressure environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational, multitasking, and time‑management abilities.
Proficiency operating standard office and clinical equipment, including computers, scanners, printers, and EMR systems.
Knowledge of current nursing standards, cardiovascular care practices, and evidence‑based patient care.
Professional demeanor with ability to serve as a positive role model within the healthcare team.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required (or RN‑to‑BSN/MSN program within one year of hire and completion within five years may also be considered).
